What causes do you wish you could stand up for more? Providing you had more time/resources.

Homelessness. It's insane that in a first world country we see so many homeless people in city centres.

I know. I spoke to a homeless guy very recently. Some homelessness is by choice though.

Loads but I don't have the resources. Both of us will stand up for what we believe in when we can. As the 'gentleman ' who came to our house yesterday with his vile leaflets discovered.

I hate it. I have stickers out in the front to deter then. Doesn't always work.

I do a bit around here and it's kind of rewarding and depressing at the same time as there is always more that can be done and so many areas that it's hard to pick just one.

But there are links and health & wellbeing promotion is one that tops my list, healthy eating, community gardens growing veg, walking not using cars....all have multiple benefits to the individual and the community

Nowhere

‘tax planning’ or avoidance schemes where people with £millions try to pay the minimum amount if tax by getting clever accountants to exploit loopholes in the law - while the rest of us make up the shortfall. Any attempt to reduce your tax by putting money offshore or in schemes should mean you lose the lot and it should be called the selfish gobshites law!!

If everyone paid their dues the public coffers would be better off - the country would have capital to invest in hospitals/rail/ law & order/ social housing as well as funding our Drs/Nurses/ emergency workers

I would like to donate orgasms to lonely bored housewives ’in my area’ as according to my emails there are loads in my neighbourhood which appears to be in America!!

Government ministers and council officials must have lived at least 1 year on minimum benefits with no added income so they can see the way there actions and policys effect the people they usually effect first but il never be all that invested in in it cos im not sure i care enough

Mental health awareness is pretty much lacking everywhere, sooner it's diagnosed the better outcome for everyone.

Prevention is definitely an area where health care could do with more. I'm with you

I'd focus more on companies than individuals. Taking someone's nearly half income seems bit Robin Hood like to me.

.

It's a bit niche but it's something a family member is actively working on and it's so important, although possibly a bit niche - racial disparity in maternal morality and care for pregnant women and new mothers. When you start looking into it it's shocking so yes, that would be something, rather than just being a sounding board.

Yes I wish decision makers would be more in touch with reality of those who live with consequences of their decisions.

Do you count this as another cause? Banning second source of income? I actually agree with this. You should be interest free.

for a penny

I have campaigned all my working life for sustainable building products and processes. I have also been a member of Friends of the Earth since I left school.

I do the recycling thing, reduce energy use, use sustainable products, don’t use air travel and I’m a vegetarian.

Don’t know what else I can do.

We've said this for years. I also think they should be required to use the NHS for themselves and their children.

Just talking today about how money will cause everyone to overlook to long term effects of every choice we make or could make.

Eh - diesel cars were the best options years ago, and if you looked into it at the time, politicians had an invested interest in diesel.

And now they are the worst thing ever…. Because they have an invested interest in electric cars…. But nobody is pushing for anything which is sustainsble and cheaper. It worries me that not enough people care.

Thanks for sharing. So many underfunded projects out there.

My causes would be to do with mental health of teenagers, teaching them resilience, how to deal with constant stream of what social media tells you to do and how to live hands free of phones too, the forgotten skills. Also perhaps a retreat for single parents of kids with special educational needs who can't afford taking their kids for holidays or who need a respite.

Got involved in a little project to raise money for a homeless charity a few years ago.

A mate had written a song abput a homeless girl he used to pass on his way to work and asked me to shoot a video for it.

We released it as a charity single.

Faced the prospect of becoming homeless myself many years ago but was fortunate to have the support of my family around me.
