Yes a couple of people actually over the years and I fully intend to again.

It didn't feel any different or awkward.

However there's one person who I've been lucky to get to know and spend a lot more time with and it's just lovely. Was a bit smitten very quickly and a bit more so every time.

Sometimes we both joke about the lamppost pissing thing but to be honest it's not really like that as we are both able to do whatever we want.

I've not seen it happen much recently but did used to notice it more because they'd do it on every thread so it was blatantly obvious. Flirting is fine, but to me it just came off as disingenuous and attention seeking.

Years ago the majority of my meets were from the forums.

Never felt awkward. Was just like meeting someone who didn't use the forums.

It did mean I often didn't worry about travelling longer distances with the slightest worry of being stood up, would sometimes not worry about a pre-meet social as frequent interactions had already built a connection and established compatibility and the only (if there was one) negative aspect at all was the occasional bit of gossip both on and off site as to who had met me and who I was allegedly lining up next. Which was a tad 'playground' but seemed common whenever any two (or more) forumites bumped uglies.

We'd probably much prefer to meet forum users than the 'general population' as seeing people's posts and views helps build a picture of personality, which is always beneficial.
