Go for a walk, it's a beautiful morning, peaceful out there and you can think of all the good memories and have a cry for your loss of a friend.

All over

Very sorry to hear that. Losing a loved one is always too soon. As for cheering up, hope the sun will soon do that at least

Sorry to hear that. It’s good to grieve and be raw, you don’t need cheering up yet

Very sorry to hear. Yes was talking to a friend the other day that the older you get the more bad news you hear about loved ones, friends and people you just know. The circle of life. I lost several loved ones in the last couple of years and it's never easy

OP.. I'm so very sorry to read about the death of your friend. Please accept my sincere condolences.

As others have said, there is no need to be cheerful right now.

Find your quiet place, and take time to mourn.

Losing a friend / losing a peer is a strange feeling, it is very different to losing a relative

I lost my best pal when he was in his 40's and the grief still surfaces now, 12 years on

You will move on though, step by step, day by day and you will find solace in the strangest of places

So sorry OP, take time to absorb what's happened - don't fight the grief, roll with it when it comes. As others have said, be kind to yourself

So sorry you're going through this terrible grief. Please take as good care of yourself as you can and do lean on your support network whatever it may be.

Well done for realising you need cheering up and expressing that, a lot of people would be struggling mightily to do that

Life does this to us all, at the time we feel as if it’s just us that had the hard road but corners do come around and life gets better again. Chin up!

So sorry for your loss. My advice would be to try and accept the rollercoaster of emotions that you will go through and take each day as it comes. Cancer is a very cruel disease. I hope you can take a tiny bit of comfort that your friend will be at peace now and no longer has to suffer

Take comfort that this person was in your life and that your life was the better for it and hope that that feeling was reciprocated.

Relive your fond memories, you won’t ever loose those

I am sorry that you are having to deal with this. It is cruel and unfair. Such good advice in here already so I won't add to that.

If this isn't too weird a place to share I would love to hear something about your friend that makes you laugh or smile or even roll your eyes. If it is too weird a place then just know that the weirdos here are thinking about you. X

He was an amazing chap , always had the right words to say at the right time... if you needed anything night or day he was always there..

I tried to be with him as much as possible in the last few months when he was unable to walk and get out. To chat about the old times and reminise.. the world has lost an amazing guy that was a true friend x
