I personally would run a mile.

I've spent enough of time with the upper middle class in rural Yorkshire to know that the "horsey set" are madder than a bucket of frogs. They're in love with their horses (often having their first sexual experience on a horse), they're trying to marry money in order to get more horses and won't entertain anyone that doesn't fit their social economic profile....

So in short NO! I find jodhpurs a turn off and actually quite repulsive.

Bit of a generalisation there.

Most horse owners are skint because they own horses, the majority have multiple jobs to fund their hobbies and the stereotypical horsey set you describe are the minority.

Speaking as someone who spends half his life around jodhpur wearing women I say the more the merrier!

For me the boots have to fit to the calf well to get the best look - fitted leather wins over the standard fit rubber boots.

I used to ride a lot and it was always a good trip to the stables!

Where I am is quite rural and most of the horsey folk I see and talk to are in fleeces, mucky leggings and muck boots ( posh type of wellies). None of which stop them being lovely and attractive people. Suspect the jodhpurs and glossy boots are more for the show scene though.

But I get the fantasy, Jilly Cooper made a fortune out of it after all
