My local would charge me £3.20 for a small bag, which is actually pretty reasonable as they're massive portions!

"Wow Chips are expensive there they are only .99 here. ![]() The potions must be tiny. With the cost of a bag of chipping potatoes being about £20 on a good week. The peeler strips 10-20% depending on the bag, and the moisture loss from cooking and the shop is lucky to get 600g of chips from a 1kg of spuds. With all the costs associated with processing, cooking, and staff and all the rest. Chips are not the cheap bulk filler product anymore ![]()

However, since I bought to air fryers I make my own if I do them fresh they come out superbly but the frozen ones of which are the best frozen for me are Marks and Spencer chunky chips.

"It's £2.75 for chips £5.20 for fush and £3.40 for chip butty around here but is quite generous and both fish and chips are nice and crispy. You also get lots of lovely bits/scraps which can't be resisted. Very rarely have fish and chips but has to right when I do ![]() *fish
