I really like a nice walk somewhere pretty. Maybe along a nice stretch of the Thames or in a country park. All seasons have their attractions for this sort of thing and one can walk or sit on benches/the ground, maybe with a takeaway coffee.

For me, a first date is mainly about seeing whether I want a second date. Then we can move into days/nights out, going to Paris on my plane or going to my box at the theatre in Town.

I fancy something different. So let’s go fruit picking, and then let’s go and make something with the haul.

I'd hope to meet someone who I had a lot in common with for dinner. Somewhere nice and relaxed with tasty food and a glass or two of something refreshing.

Prefer a coffee and a walk around a park. If it goes well, continue to a pub or even restaurant. It it's all awkward, say goodbye and leave

A sunny afternoon in a beer garden ….. A cosy chat sharing a settle by the pub log burner …. A walk in a country park and a picnic and Prosecco….. wait … I think I may have a problem!

Hampshire/Dorset

Coffee and a walk round the gardens/down the beach.

Anything else is too much for a 1st date, bit awkward if you don't gel and have to sit across from them through dinner.

If I was to have a date…which would be a massive if at this point in my life… it would have to be to The Tate Modern or British Library. Both are in my top 5 favourite places

Something fun that matched both of our interests, I'm very playful and if he can't cope with that, then we are definitely incompatible

I'm done with The Tate Modern. A cold monstrosity of nothingness.

Can we please do Tate Britain instead?...and then luscious afternoon tea with seduction.

I especially like going to new exhibitions on first dates. My favourite first dates have all been to see things at galleries/ museums.

But LB wants to go treacle, I'm sure you can suck it up for her, and afternoon tea sounds awesome

nearby

I like to go to a nice restaurant for something to eat, then a quiet pub after for drinks and move conversation. Two locations give an opportunity to peel off if its not working put for either party.
