A bee once took a liking to the inside of my sandwich. A bee sting on the tongue is not something I'd wish on my worst enemy*. They're bastards.

They're great pollinators, not quite a prolific as bees, but they still have their place, so too does the hornet

My son is allergic to wasp stings, he swells up like a balloon, and when you've already got breathing difficulties, are profoundly disabled and like to spice up life by having seizures....

There's just no place for wasps in life.

They're like mini stripey little Satan's.....

I don't care what they do for the eco system, they're horrid!

I had a horrible wasp experience when I was little. We accidentally disturbed a nest and they came at us. Stuck to our clothes and we were all stung a few times.

Pest control came out to the shed they were in and apparently we got off lightly.

I've also been stung today and I'm not happy.

Yes to this - Wasps are belligerent, evil little fuckers that just don't give a damn - they're relentless. Bee's will only become aggressive if they're defending themselves or their hive.

Wasps are d*unk wee twats zooming around in your face to proudly show off their ASBOs. Hate them anywhere near me, it freaks me out that you don't hear them the way you can hear bees. I wouldn't kill them though, I just run like Hell.

Bees, I like. I'm not scared of them, they really do leave you alone if you give them space. I carry bee nectar on me in case I find an exhausted one, I've watched quite a few sip it then fly away after they looked half-dead. Fat fuzzy little cuties.

I have an electric swatter … think it may be illegal because instead of stunning them so you can smack them with something … they explode quite spectacularly…. Wasps only - bees are lovely but still get removed from the building unharmed xx

Bees are fine and do a good job and don't actively try to attack us; however wasps are like the timewasters and silhouettes on this site, totally pointless (but they have a stingy point), and no purpose other than to irritate and no use to anybody.

As well as protect the garden from other pests

I had a nest of Hornest in back of the wooden cabin we ( couple + 2 kids ) live in mountains in Portugal . Chickens , ducks , dogs cats …

The nest was as big as and adult torso , huge .

How to get rid of it ?

Remain calm , they don’t get anywhere near you , they don’t bite , just don’t get any where near them . They don’t came for you .

They use to hangout in our kitchen window and in our kitchen ….

Yes is very intimidating . Freaks you out . But just chill n walk away if u have too

Don’t panick .

Just wait for winter , they will go , immigration hide from cold , and they don’t came back , they

As they don’t like noises and agitated areas , they want to hide quiet . Alone .

One sting of this Japanese hornets would be fatal to a human .

I think takes 7 to take an elephant down ( don’t remember well …

The local terminator died doing his job . I heard ,

Her kids dad volunteer to remove it for us

I said : no , don’t be silly , we will end losing you instead

When I was a child, a wasp got up my t-shirt and kept stinging me. My younger brother came to the rescue with a rolled up newspaper or something and killed it.

Think I had to visit the hospital.
