I've had a strange situation arise , another member who also runs socials has taken screen shots of my profile and pics and sent them to my ex and I'm getting a lot of abuse with threats to show the world.

My question, is the said member allowed to do such a thing I just feel its wrong that she's screenshot and sharing my things with people outwith fab is it even legal? Thanks in advance

Report profile to admin if you are receiving abuse.

I mean it is a public profile and I’m assuming they’re not trying to pass off that profile as they’re own and not trying to impersonate you so are they doing anything wrong ? Probably nothing that they could get into trouble for but you can always report them for it for admin ti review.

Having said that, is it a dick move? Absolutely

"Report profile to admin if you are receiving abuse."

Indeed , that part is definitely wrong. No one deserves abuse but as for the person who shared you profile ? Hmm?

You can most definitely reply the person who took the screen shots, that's out of order.

And if you're really worried, you can go to the police and report the other party for harassment.

How can they prove it's you?

Report, not reply.

It's a shitty thing to do definitely but a risk to be accepted once something is posted online. All the public pictures on here can be freely downloaded. No one should get abuse on here though, definitely report that to admin.

Sadly that sort of crap happens on here. And as far as I'm concerned those that share it in order to try embarrass someone or cause agro for them outside of fab are scum. The same as those who share others info in groups as well as those who enable them.

You can report the person but I don't know if anything will be done about it.

All anyone can do is try and keep everything is a private as you can on here and don't give out too much info to others.

I call it networking without consent and it happens every day here.

People and their personal details are used as currency.

Discussions are held about others without their knowledge.

For some it's the only reason for being here and many people here on the forums are aware of former posters who had to leave the site because of things like this.

Obviously that's bang out of order and probably illegal if you've read the fab swingers rules.

But it's nothing to hide from in my eyes , online dating is the most popular means of dating new people, you're just being honest and using a site that fits your needs at the moment.

I think it's cause I've just had abuse for two hours from an ex and called everything under the sun because I'm on this site , think that's why it affected me so much

I don't even meet that often lol

Seriously call 101 and report it. It is abuse and could very well fall under revenge porn.

What part of your profile confirms who you are ? There are no face photos or tattoos etc ? How did you get recognised ?

Yes they are allowed no you can't do anything unless they're being malicious and actually show others naked pics of you.

I had this situation and the police said the profile is in the public domain; so anyone can do what they want with it . It's when it becomes threatening behaviour and malicious with the material that it's an offence.x

The answer is they are not ethically allowed to do it because its against the rules to screenshot profiles and pics but legally they can't have the police do anything about it

If the screenshots that are being shared are nude pics or anything considered sexual and have been shared with an intent to cause you distress then they can be prosecuted under revenge porn laws.

Not true.

Revenge porn has to be private photos. If you've uploaded them to websites or whatever it isn't revenge porn as the public can access them. I've been going through this with West yorks/the met police for rhe past 8 months. Xx

If you know who is taking the screenshots - report and block them. This is not a public site, you have to be a signed up member to see anything, whether that’s paid up or free. As for the ex gf, tell her to GTF it’s none of her business what you get up to, if you can’t deal with her harassment, report her to the police - you may have to fess up that you’re on here, but that’s not illegal & the police will have to keep things confidential

Block the snapper and change your username/password

Half the world in on Tinder, POF or the like, most people meet online if not for relationship making but for casual sex. This is no different. If you want to be narky about it, whoever shared your profile had a profile on here so they were meeting half the world too, and they can't disprove it not matter what they say.

If you believe that your personal contact details are given which leads to harassment then you've a good case to report and or commence with taking legal action. Info. can be found on citizens advise online...

Good-luck

Well according to your pics you’ve been on here at least 5 years.

If your ex was within that time I’d say that they’d have every right to be upset if you were on here and your ex did not know.

If it’s an ex of over 5 years then I’m not sure why you’re even bothered or they are

Wait, you mean all that legal guff at the end of profiles didn’t prevent someone distributing / sharing your pics!?!?

Seriously, surprised that a Fab Social Organiser would pass on your details to your Ex

But if he sent the pics in a private message then that would qualify for revenge porn surly?

"But if he sent the pics in a private message then that would qualify for revenge porn surly? "

If they've not been uploaded on the site and only sent to her, yes.

But as soon as you upload on here private or public pics they're in the public domain and its not revenge porn

I had someone on here screenshot all mine, send it to my friends and family etc and find my real name number etc. Police filed a report for stalking and malicious communications but couldn't for revenge porn because I knowingly put my pics on here. Its a very grey area. X

How can she even look unless also joined???? However, if so, you could threaten to do the same to her if she doesn't stop? Or, set up another profile and keep your pics private untill you know who you are talking to???
