This weekend I am thinking of saying 'Fuck It' and just booking a hotel somewhere. Probably Southern England.

Where would you recommend and why?

Watching with interest. I was going to fuck off on a plane but where I wanted to go needs a bit more planning.

I'm tempted by a road trip to Cornwall and staying down there for two nights.

But I also looked at jersey so who knows where I'll end up.

Oh the shame! I've always thought you were London based. Apologies for the crap suggestion.

Do you know where's really rather idyllic? Still South England. If you look at Herts - St Albans. Got that sort of Winchester energy. Perfect in this weather - there's a walk down past the cathedral where you can stop in a quaintly named pub. The restaurants are epic. And the local accent is just...

One more thing, most hotels have been booked for the weekend. I tried finding somewhere in the Lakes, Wales and Scotland. Only very few rooms are remaining and they are charging me a kidney for staying in average rooms

"This weekend I am thinking of saying 'Fuck It' and just booking a hotel somewhere. Probably Southern England.

Ah, dearest Jennie. Friday night on a sunny bank holiday weekend. Timing!

Personally I’d be going south west to either the new forest, Dorset (swanage area) or Devon because they’re so pretty and peaceful if you stay away from the crowds. But, as you and so many have said, the traffic is going to be horrid from now.

The same could be said for going to Sussex/Kent and the Lake District.

Jersey is amazing, it’s my favourite place in the world (in fact don’t go and sully it ), but you’ll probably want longer there. Only £80 on the ferry.

Stratford upon Avon is very pretty. Oxford and surrounding villages is nice.

Depends what you want and are prepared to put up with to get it!
