Sometimes we get a bit caught in life. In the stresses of day to day things, the Big Things.

I thought I'd focus on the positives. So... what's made you smile recently? It can be small, big. Life changing or a little smile that brightens your day. What's brought you joy?

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

Moments ago, my dog came up, headbutted my ankle and then licked it, and wandered off.

That made me smile.

Then I turned around in time to catch him licking his brothers ear. And that made me smile.

Seeing a man with dozens of pots of coleslaw arranged neatly in the bottom of his supermarket trolley.

I had the double pleasure of admiring the aesthetics of the arrangement: marvelling at the time and care he took over it, while simultaneously wonder what he wanted them for.

Dogs are adorable aren't they? I try really hard to not be such a dog person but if I see one, esp a weimaraner, the likelihood is I'm asking the owner if they don't mind me stroking it. :D

Mine's dog related too. We had a lovely walk in the park at lunchtime. He just rolls in the grass with sheer joy of being there (and sometimes fox poo, but we'll skirt over that) that you can't help but make me smile.

Be more dog is the message, I think (minus the fox poo).

The fact that my 3pm video-conference call/meeting was cancelled brought me a little smile and an excuse to go for a stroll, grabbing a flat white along the way. Tis the little things indeed.

And no signs of either fox poo or dog poo on my meandering footpath. Surely that's a bonus!?

I'm lucky. There's actually quite a lot of things.

Being in the sea and climbing trees yesterday with a friend.

My dog. She is daft, beautiful and so sweet. I actually get quite emotional over how much she seems to love me unconditionally.

The group chat my sons are having with each other.

The fact it's sunny.

Something someone said yesterday is still making me smile today.

The gorgeous smoothy I had for lunch.
