I assure you, it's very true mate. One can only guess the reasons why people don't follow through:

- cold feet

- cheating

- catfish

- trolling

- ?????

It happens to just about everyone who's been here long enough

Somewhere in Co. Down

I have never had anyone not show when we have arranged to meet. Maybe I am just very lucky in that but so far I've never had a no show.

From what I've seen on here though women and couples are also guilty of not showing up for meets that have been arranged so it's not just men who have do it.

Yep but then I tend to chat to people for a while before I meet it doesn't suit everyone but it's worked for me.

Fair play! We've had the opposite lately.. chatted to a couple of guys for over a year only to ghost us when it came down to meeting. Whereas guys we just "met" show up without any fuss.. we're clearly doing something wrong.. or right?

Goodness knows but if it works mostly then just enjoy those times and block those that don't show

Can only remember one no-show (as a couple).

It was a couple.

The only no show I've ever had was a guy. But given how many people I've met, it's not exactly a pattern.

we have never had a no show. People have cancelled, couples and single men but they've always let us know

I don't know the reasons why, maybe I just chose the wrong people or just had a bad luck streak. Either way, it's bloody exhausting trying to get adults to be straight up with you.

It's true, no idea why though...

Only so much due diligence you can do.

It would be much easier if they just said they weren't interested! Instead of not showing or cancelling.

I've luckily not had any no shows in the few meets I've had but I have let someone down on the day which I still feel really awful about when I think back to it.

Centuries ago on my single profile I got ghosted on the day of the meet. Made my way there all pretty and ready. Waited. Never showed up. Deleted the kik and his fab account. Months later I got a poor and peculiar explanation which made no sense. I waited some time, chatted and when offered another meet by that person I ghosted him softly back. Worth the wait

15 years.

Never been stood up by a single guy and only had one ever cancel just before a meet for what appeared a valid reason.

These days we mainly meet at clubs so it wouldn't matter if someone we'd arranged to meet didn't show as there'd be others there.

But when we met elsewhere we didn't rush anything. We had social meets. We didn't arrange anything that would put either us or the person we were meeting in a position where either would be out of pocket or expected to travel further than the other. We saw eachother as equals, not as a couple superior to the single guys we met.

We chatted online for a while first and the swapped numbers. No phone number - no meet. Phones are dirt cheap and sim only deals cost pence. There's no need to use your normal phone but having a number makes a difference, trust me.

Those that appear to struggle with being stood up often seem in a rush to meet and make arrangements last minute, all via Fab. Some people don't help themselves and it's easy to get caught up in the idea of a meet and throw caution to the wind. The more you take things at a slower pace the less likely you are to have issues.

Just my 2p. But then what would I know after all this time.......

We’ve never had a no show, or cancellation fortunately. We have had to cancel one meet when hubby got covid.

We also tend to chat for quite some time before planning a meet, but I’m not sure this makes a difference.

It’s only ever happened to us once but it wasn’t really a no show, he just cancelled last minute. It wasn’t a big deal, we figured he had maybe changed his mind which was fine.

We've never experienced this. Maybe we've been lucky. All the gentlemen we have met have been absolutely lovely. We don't put any pressure on big plans, we kind of just go with the flow

We don't really arrange anything online. We just stick to clubs and parties and take it from there.

Calderdale innit

I had one no show years ago

He pestered to meet me ,i explained it wouldnt be quick as i worked & looked after a Family member.

When we arranged a social he was still texting till just before our meet time 8pm.8 pm comes & goes & no sign of him.

I text him & he said he'd decided I wasn't his type?!.So I replied that he could have decided that sometime ago & blocked him.

He left fab too.

Months later he rejoins, then messages & asked me to meet up.

I swiftly said absolutely not & reminded him he left me stood waiting for him & that I wasn't his type anyway.

He tried to say he got cold feet, but he had a few verifications on his old profile ,so I don't belive that at all.

To this day I'm no wiser anout why he did it.
