observation. It does actually make me laugh too but each to their own. You are having banter, contributing posts, not realy caring wether is couple, man or woman. Well, I don't anyway as it's the specific post I am replying to if I have something to say. Then you notice, women on the whole are quite good at replying to your post no matter who you are. Couples are usually OK too but do sometimes stick to people they chatted with before. Then it comes to guys and whilst some are fine and go with the flow, quite a few only communicate with women and couples as if it might hurt their masculinity to reply to a post from another guy. As I said not all but some are so obvious but you can't but notice. No offence meant to anyone of course and every does as they feel comfortable.

I think some people only reply to the one's they find attractive or are interested in. Others don't particularly like some forum users and some just randomly answer.

If I start a thread I try to respond to everyone but I'm not always successful

Thank you. And you are absolutely right, there are some very sensitive and caring and very straight too guys in here who have no issues chatting with other guys. My point isn't that you're playing games or whatever nonsense you suggested above - it's that you flirt with women on the forums sometimes - based on whether you'd like to get a bit frisky with them.

The reality is the forum is a tiny part of fab. People can and should use it however they want. It can be a pretty good way of getting to know people beyond their profile.

Sometimes it makes you want to know them more and sometimes you use it to filter them out.

Over the years I've found it to actually be quite a nice community. I've seen love, compassion, support freely given to people when they need it (regardless of gender)

I've seen friendships and relationships blossom.

Granted there are always groups of people who clearly know each other well but in the 12 years I've been around, I'd say it's actually more inclusive now than ever.

If it seems like some ppl are being ignored it still might be that they've been PM'd. That used to happen to me loads on FG, and a bit more just lately on here to which is nice. It's happened since the happiness buzz maybe, all responses to thread-posts and from diverse people too.

Some here are clearly good at responding to lots of people in a broad way, and as nicecouple I think says, some will probably just reply to people who particularly interest them. I often don't really think too much about who I'm responding to tbh, so I hope I've never come across myself as fussy any time. There are loads of posts I think about responding to but don't because I post quite a lot anyway.

I have noticed though that I've contributed to a particular thread all the way through, and the actual OP has almost-fastidiously ignored me! And once or twice - yeah - it has been a guy who's clearly just responding to the women lol. I used to really persevere in some of those for a laugh (ie if it was a silly subject anyway like boob size).

I do sometimes think maybe being passed-by could be for a reason, like a position taken (now or before), or just the cut of my gib (maybe it depends what avatar I have up). It might even be a bit hard for someone, I don't know (TV/TS etc). I never assume anything though, so never take offence (It sounds like no one does).

I know that all of our posts do at least get *read* quite a lot, as these places are full of non-participants (I don't really like the work 'lurkers'). I never personally expect much of a response in the thread itself tbh, unless I'm in an actual debate. I'm just glad this place isn't full of "tldr" replies! People either read or skip post-by-post here, which is all anyone can expect really.

It might depend what type of women those men are after, ie women looking just for them. It does seem to be the opposite to the 'sensitive side' thing (or maybe that is part of it - in the sense of a 'masculine' man selectively showing their other side at times.) Some people just 'are what they are' though.

What gets me is ppl saying they are straight when they really are bi or bicurious (ie more than just swingers). I always think, would many women really care? But each to their own I guess, and maybe some women do. It's impossible to please everyone on here obviously. It's just 'beard/no-beard' too much of the time!

Tbh, I think it's more likely that these 'selective' men are really just picking the women to flirt with, or maybe just acknowledging their buddies.

I've never fully got the idea of the forum itself being somewhere to meet people sexually (or maybe I just mean the Lounge) - but maybe it is? I just see it as a decent online forum tbh (one with a good balance of the sexes and were we can be rude and talk about sex), and I'm using the site anyway... so it's all good, as _obilebottom says.
