Saw this in the pics! I remember someone saying "don't be a dick" to some hilarity. Kelly le Brock? Funny - I remember the name, but her not so much! But I guess her not having a personality was the thing! The kids were supposed to. Or something. pt

Great soundtrack. Why don't pretty girls look at me is a track I remember. Watch out for a very young Robert Downey Jr

I suppose it was quite harrowing. I was about 12 I guess, but I took a younger kid once to an arts cinema years later and she loved it. I was really chuffed I shared it with her! I think it's a magical film. Spielberg really had a magic touch back then. It would still get me I'm sure. pt

I've watched it since with my own son and he loved it! I kept my best poker face on and he came out saying he wished he had an alien friend, maybe I was just very soft

I fancied the pants off Kelly Le Brock in that film! The main one that reminds me of childhood is The Neverending Story, another traumatic one, but awesome. Was more or less a weekly watch when I was wee. I've met the guy who played Atreyu, sweetest bloke ever.

Was he the kid? This was actually a really underrated film, it gets forgotten I think. Even with that song!

Not the main boy reading the book, but the young hero in the story with the white horse. The song is a banger!

Anybody remember the early Val Killmer film called "Top Secret" (1984) I remember thinking it was the funniest film ever at the time... made it about 20 minutes into the film before bailing recently
