Reports that so called Air Range which is louish behaviour on aeroplanes has soared to record levels. Some blame cheap air travel and bars at airports. Are we sewing what we reaped when we banned corporal punishment at schools. Why not bring back the cane

Should be £10,000 fine and banned from flying for life.

Also ban alcohol in airports and on planes.

Why not just use the nightclub approach and have bouncers on planes to eject troublemakers mid flight?

That would soon deter others from getting d*unk and causing trouble.

Airports that have bars shouldn't be surprised when people get on their planes pissed.

Be easier to install an eject button for each seat. And more fun.

I'll hazard a guess at... no.

You're the one who suggested the correlation. Why would hitting a child make air rage less likely?

Corporal punishment for adults (outside of prisons) was abolished in 1948. Unlikely to be having any impact on modern air travel. So I can only think you mean in schools. Therefore children.

The trouble with corporal punishment in the past is that it was not monitored or controlled. It should be carried out by specially trained persons and regulated.

Tom was caned at school and his behaviour improved and made him the man he is because of it. It will be interesting to see if air rage abated in the future

Ah, yes, the complete abdication of personal responsibility. It must be someone else’s fault.

On a rather ironic twist I think you have highlighted exactly what the problem (and growing) is regarding people’s behaviour in society in general.

When Tom was at school Corporal Punishment was common to keep peoples behaviour under control. Strange that Air Rage was pretty much unheard of in the 1950s and 1960s and 1970s and then it was phased out by these do gooder types and now we are reaping the rewards. D*unkeness and fighting on aeroplanes.

It's not rocket science ...just stop serving alcohol in airports and during flights.

Increase the punishment.

If it's a child causing the problem one of the parents does 10 years without parole.

If it's an adult you do 15 years which 10 must be served in prison.

Also the airline should be able to recover all costs from all members of that family.

Banned from future air travel.

Until the punishment is serious enough to deter bad behaviour people will keep doing it.
