hacked

friends of mine have had their account hacked and have had to change and start all over. so the big , possibly,silly question is.... how would you know if your account was hacked?

dont know how they knew, but it was shut down last week, and they have just got back in touch

well they shut it down , but now ave told us they got hacked. either way me and missus glad they are back they are nice couple

Sounds more like there account was either closed by admin or themselves.

Only way they would know if they had been hacked was if a trail had been left behind, ie, messages sent that they didn't send, pictures added/removed or moved from private/friends to public etc

I logged on one day and found that my interests list had changed so I changed my password there and then. I think there were a few oddities but that was the main one

What a sahme, friend of mine had his pics stolen and the person plastered them on his page!!! Thankfully admin have now resoled xx

I rarely look at my own profile but I would notice if messages had been answered or deleted. Perhaps they used their account in front of someone?

No idea but I have also had my msn account hacked, two friends sent me messages to say that they was receiving emails from me and when I logged on, my name had been changed. Given that I rarely used it, I deleted my account.

I have also had my Telewest account hacked and now get about 1,000 spam emails per month, I did tell them but they weren't helpful at all so my friend set them up to go into the spam folder and every month, I just delete the lot, that way I don't get any into my Outlook inbox

Best way to avoid it is to use a password that is hard to guess. Lots of people still use "password" or similar and it makes life easy for that hackers.

Always use a combination of numbers and letters, with the occasional $ or £ and upper case letter thrown in.

Also worth using a different password for different sites. Can be a pain to remember. But better to be safe.

I think this is a distinct possibility, after all we hear of so many times when people message one of the other couple to meet alone and even I have had a lot of requests from partnered men to meet without their partners knowledge.

Think I must have been hacked, I'm actually a 20 something very attractive single bi female who enjoys playing with couples and single men of all ages, I can accommodate, travel and do the splits. And looking at my profile I appear to have morphed into some middle aged bloke. Weird

Sometimes when I get messages saying how fabulous my profile is and how they loved reading it I think wtf and have to go and have a look at it incase someone has hacked it and put something else on it without me realising

The times I see I think my profile has been Hacked makes me smile

for some complete stranger to pick on one profile & sit for hours,days,weeks to try millons of password combiantion just to hack into a fab swingers profile for a bit of fun I dont think so.

It is more likely it is some one you know or may be have met maybe some thing you have said that might make it easy for them to guess your password.

professional hackers have very sophisticated software to do this for them knowing as malware or trojan which most antivirus do not detect you should use a good anti malware software such as "malwarebytes-anti malware"

also as someone has already said you should use a much more secure password using alph numeric

as to stolen pic's all you need to do is go to anyone's profile click on there public photo's then right click on them go copy then paste them any were you like

I'd say its more likely they were closed down by admin for some reason, or as someone else suggested one of them was messaging people they shouldn't and got found out, and saying "we must have been hacked" was the only way out.

Firstly, hacking into someone's pc merely to fiddle with a swingers profile is not really what hackers do. They tend to be more interested in bank details etc.

Secondly, if someone hacked into their FAB account, the first thing they would have done would be to change the password so the rightful owners couldn't get back in.

Thirdly, a "hack" is unlikely indeed, as stated above they'd be more interested in other details. More likely they left fab open on a pc or mobile device and a friend or child thought it'd be funny to spend spoof emails. Frape style.
