I know in vain when it comes to my hair. But recently I've noticed it is receeding on the sides and I have an island forming.

I have considered shaving it all, but am worried it will make me look thuggish.

I have thought about growing it, but my hair goes thick and fluffy.

Can any guys give advice on how you dealt with your hair issues.

Women what do you prefer?

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I like the feel of a shaved head but it does make some men look like thugs. Go to the hairdressers and try something new. The worst that will happen is you look like a pratt for a week and then it will grow out again.

The shaven look depends on the guy, some guys carry it off and look great with a shaven head, (Vin Diesel for example) but some guys just dont suit it, i dont think it looks thuggist its just a case of not all men carry the shaven head look, it depends on teh shape of your face

Nothing worse than growing the hair you have longer to compensate for a lack in other places.

If its going cut it shorter if you get into island or horseshoe territory bald or no1.

i shaved mine about 25 years ago, only as i worked in a dirty job, so no shampoo, or hair gel for me.

If I were cruel,,,, I’d suggest ditch the Jedward tribute and concentrate your efforts on perfecting a comb-over….;-)

But I'm not cruel , so I'll suggest.... if you're really concerned about hair loss, its perhaps worth consulting a “Trichologist” (hair specialist)

I'm similar in that I shaved mine to combat the dreaded male pattern baldness. Not really suffered accusations of thugishness - although I'd hazard a guess from some messages on here that it's not everyone's cup of Darjeeling!!

I don't think I'd try anything else now though - especially now the top of my head feels like moleskin cos of the lack of hair there - the bald spot's definitely not a look I'm looking to try out!!
