Hey everyone,

So as a general rule, I like an older man....

They just suit me better.

Generally speaking of course.

(Usually like 10-20 yrs older, so 45 to 55)

But lately (I think it might have something to do with it recently being my birthday and peoples search preferences) I appear to be getting more inbox messages from younger guys

(I'm not complaining, in the slightest, it's very flattering and is certainly helping the wee meltdown i had about turning 35)

And upon further messaging it becomes apparent that they have a preference for 'an older women' much like i enjoy the company of an older man.

So now it has obviously peaked my interest and I want to explore further!

But my question is.....

Do people have an age preference or like I appear to becoming do you think every age bracket has its appeal for different reasons?

And is it limited to just age?

What about types?

I don't have a set 'type' I think lots of different physical attributes have Thier place and find a cast array of different types attractive.

This is a very 'deep musing' for a Tuesday evening

But please.....

I don't have a type. Never have.

Likewise with ages. Before Fox and I got together I'd met a 19 Yr old on here when I was mid thirties as well as a woman who was 51. I only knew their ages as they were on their profiles. One looked older, one much younger.

I've been hoping to clubs for nearly 15 years and nobody wears age badges. If someone catches your eye and you them, then age is generally not even discussed and you often only find out when trying to leave a veri. It's also entertaining when uou do finally see someone's profile after you've already got physical, only to discover that on paper you seem completely incompatible.

It always pays to be open minded. Preferences are good to have and some boundaries should always be set to whatever you're comfortable with. But even they can be flexible as long as it's your decision, not someone else's attempt to push them or convince you to change.

You're only on this planet a short time. Take the opportunity to explore and try new things, in a safe and secure way. You never know what you'll enjoy and who with so there's no harm in experimenting and discovering what does and doesn't work for you.

Swinging is about the journey, not just the destination, and sometimes changing tracks produces interesting travels.

When I was younger 20s I preferred older women, maybe 10 years older.

When I was in my thirties it was people around the same age

Now I’m in my 40s I prefer younger

Maybe I just like women in their 30s

I don't have a type apart everyone I've been in the company of have made me laugh.

My age range is something I don't really deviate from as I won't meet anyone who could be in the same range of any ofspring I could have and I don't really want anyone much older (been there, done that and married it) x

Age wise I have never knowingly been with a younger man. Not even 1 year younger. I have a weird block around it. I like older (5-10 years).

Personally I am fine with anyone much older to my age and about 5 years younger to my age but no one too younger to my age.

Maybe my age is to blame. But I haven't really felt a connection with anyone more than 5 years younger than me, even in normal social circles but have always found a great vibe with much older women.

I also like women who are assertive.

When I was younger I went for guys about 10 years old than me. The first guy I lived with was 14 years older than me but I never thought about it once.

My husband was the same age as me

My partners after him where a few years older. Yet through swinging I've always been with younger guys some 20 years younger than me. It wasn't a conscious choice it just happened I guess in my head I thought I was the same age as them.

Then I met my beloved not through this site and he was 22 years older than me. I didn't have a natural attraction to guys that much older it was just him I was attracted to.

So I would say in the real world a bit older and swinging a bit younger. But if I hadn't had an open mind I wouldn't have met my beloved

From a guys perspective, well more accurately my own experiences.

When I was in my early 20s I much preferred older ladies with the biggest gap I dated(only for few weeks) being 31 years.

I felt they offered more in the way of chemistry and sex appeal. One of the biggest factors was they also were more appreciative of my efforts.

As I've gotten older I would spend time with any age and it is (as had already been said a few times) down to connection or if I can enjoy their company and they mine.

As for type, I prefer ladies to know what they want or more accurately understand who they are. I don't need them to be super confident or anything, just know who they are and have an interest in something.

I find it a huge attraction if a lady is busy in her own life and is willing to make time to chat to me. I'll reciprocate with healthy attention and support. Xx

I have been thinking that I’m maybe more attracted to women older than me given that I have slept with mostly women older than me and no women younger. But I don’t think it’s that I think that just at the current age I am, women younger are not often as fun for me.

In terms of physically- I don’t really have a one I don’t think. I like women of all shapes and shades. I think mostly where I grew up meant that like I was around and exposed to a wide range of people and found beauty in them all.

Unusually for a woman I’ve almost always gone younger and very rarely older. When I was younger myself it was only less than 5 years difference, as I’ve got older the gap has widened at times.

But it’s really, as others have said, less about chronological age and more about mindset.

I can mix with most on a social level but generally gravitate towards younger there too, several of my long term friends are younger than me. We just seem to have more in common in terms of humour, interests etc and that’s where you really click with someone isn’t it?

And if you click on a personality level then that usually translates to sexually too.

Regular meet I have is my age, but like me has a youthful outlook and approach to life, keeps very fit and healthy and we share a sense of humour and similar taste in things like music and film. It works very well for us.

I don’t think you should get hung up on age, my filters are set to 5 years either side of my usual limits because you just never know who you’ll click with so I’d hate to miss out on meeting someone where we got along well.

So we’re a lot more flexible when it comes to women, however we’re not keen on too overweight, too old/young and have to be pretty, articulate, not overly sensitive and kinky.

For guys we’re a lot more strict. We prefer athletic built chaps, around 25-45 (although if you get than 29 need to be quite exceptional), articulate, funny, 5’8” or over, decent sized cock and we’re not into Asian guys.

When I was in my twenties I hooked up with a woman in her forties, and she said that she "only dates younger men, because older men all look like gnomes" -- I took that on board and have done my utmost not to turn into one.

Nowadays, however, I tend to prefer women a bit younger than me, but it's not a strict rule -- it's the mindset that counts more.

In regards to age my preferences are set in stone and have nothing whatsoever to do with attraction.

My daughters are in their 30s and for that reason I have no interest in anyone even close to their age regardless of what they look like or how experienced or mature they may be.

There will always be a minimum 10 year gap between them and any woman I meet.

I don't go to clubs so never have to worry about asking the age question.

I chat to people for weeks and months before meeting so there is never any doubt.

If that's classed as ageism I'm not really bothered because those are my preferences.

I've always gone for older. Within 10 years older.

But in the last few years there have been two guys in their thirties that were a lot more fun. One in particular was great. The older guys tend to be more serious now and set in their ways. The younger ones more up for a laugh and relaxed and more easy going.

Younger has a bit more appeal than it did.

I've personally found myself more attracted to older women because I find that they're just more on my level when it comes to conversations which is made easier by the fact that they can be quite forward so I know where I stand straight away and can therefore be myself.

There's always this feeling out period with women my age or slightly younger that can make me second guess whether they're actually interested or not.
