my tv is on the blink

Works fine for 10 mins then the screen goes blank and sound still going . I turn it off and then turn screen comes back on it then does

Same thing . its not the sleep mode come in as I've checked it off .

I find is a TV is playing up, a little smack to the ass cheek works wonders. Probably not helpful in your case.

Have you tried changing the HDMI leads as it may be a dodgy connection in the lead thats not transmitting the visual but still the sound or try a different port if available

Just using from arieal at the moment. Yep that second thing I thought of. After screen timer been on . think its just over heating from been switch on too long left on standby . causing a fault .

I am sorry I can't help but mine seems to constantly be losing the sound and have to restart the box. Sometines does it almost every day and other times once in a while. Not easy faults to diagnose. Good luck with yours.

Yep it comes on as normal and then screen goes blank . its great if want to watch programme at. 5 min intervals .

My computer has similar issues when it gets hot

Is there enough ventilation behind it? It may be worth sticking a desk fan behind it to see if its a difference

check the HDMI cables if you have them and not a normal aerial,,, remove the cables at both ends them refit,,,

Its not actually it should be an easy fix .but its weather or not I can be arsed getting it fixed as cost me 100 quid in black Friday sale 9 years ago so had my money worth .so might just buy a bigger new one .

your tv is suffering dry joints you need to resolder the power board.

it heats up so shuts the tv down and then you turn back on then you get same again.

its where the heat expands enough the metal so disconnects them from the power

Yep saw that as possible solution

But cant fix that myself .

So I'll look into if can get fixed or just buy bigger TV .

Whilst you are at it, can you tell me why the sound goes on mine and I have to restart my sat box to get it back. The frequency of it varies

Could be the backlights. Either a faulty strip or driver board - all depends on the model.

I had a problem with mine a couple of years ago where I had a dark strip down the middle of the screen.

Bought a new set and my son and I swapped them out. Good as new
