Has proved one thing and that is how political this contest is.

I've been saying for weeks that we'd be back at the bottom.

Sweden held with the public too!

Anna Paddington did the UK proud tonight. Just enough bossy and lots of humour.

It's a pity it is so political because some of the songs are genuinely really good. Soul destroying for the singers and bands

Will ABBA move their flatpack stadium there for the show? I'd better book tickets for Voyage before it's dismantled.

No. I have seen her on other things and she's great. I loved her doing the whole Anna Paddington skit at the Olivier awards and enjoy her humour.

That is why they split it between the music jury’s and the public vote…

So what did we learn tonight.. for the public it’s about the visuals! You don’t give Croatia 112 points if they don’t parade around in their y fronts!!!

The lesson is don’t trust the public!!

My fellow Eurovision viewers were flabbergasted by the ascent of Finland near the end. Lots of "ner-ner-ner-ner-ner" from me, in a very mature display

I'm beginning to wonder if the UK threw it to save money next year.

We had an average song, very little staging and a lacklustre performance.

First time in years I didn't watch it. I did see some of the results though, gave up when we were doing so poorly, shows what a year can do, our song did sound shit but then I didn't rate Sams song either last year, but at the same time he has a huge following on tiktok beforehand, so maybe next year's entry and management should take note.

I still say you could stick one of our biggest artist as our entry and we still wouldn't win, by the looks of it on here the right song won.

Exactly. Whether we have an artist that sings a good or bad song, we'd still be at the bottom regardless.

That’s why Ireland don’t compete anymore… holding it 3 years in a row nearly bankrupted RTE..

You want to win it till you see how much it actually costs to host.. and then you say… someone else can have it!

That why countries only take it seriously if they haven’t won it for a bit and can do with the tourism exposure… the UK has had enough of that this year

Except another proper Eurovision go at it in about 2030

Because we gave out the most money to support Ukraine during their war with Russia.

First year in a while I didn’t go. Got a friend who works for the organisers so always tag along for a ticket if it’s somewhere nice. Lisbon 2018 was the best. Gutted I missed out on the chance to see Hannah Waddington big Ted Lasso fan!

Looking forward to going to Sweden though.

The jury votes pushed Sweden over the top and I can’t help but think, in the back of the minds of the ‘music pros’ they know that next year will be ABBA 50 years since Waterloo won. Maybe that swung them behind Sweden. The idea of it being there too much to resist.

Our entry this year was lacklustre and her performance was under powered and bland.

Apparently, our entry hates Britain so I think either she botched it on purpose or the BBC botched our entry by picking her in the first place.
