Now it’s a sunny day in derbados, just seen a young lady with the Yves Saint Laurent logo tattooed on her left cheek (face by the way) now before I get shot each to their own and all that but I get the feeling there might be some regrets in future, I’m a fan of girls with tatts too but that one maybe a step too far ….. I’m just not a fan of face tattoos, thoughts …..

Tattoos are for the person wearing them, not for others viewing approval

I agree with the OP, YSL™ is soooo passé. I would have gone for Hubert de Givenchy or Elsa Schiaparelli or, failing that, just Dior.

Maybe she's been branded by the company and they now own her

See I'm in two minds here.

I agree that tattoos are for the person getting the ink, not others. I have some that people have questioned why on earth I wanted them and I just replied 'they're for me, not anyone else'.

That's said....I'm not a fan of flash card style tats, anything that's a fad or logos in particular.

One thing to also consider is copyright and trademarks. Yep. Technically a tattoo of a branded logo is an infringement of intellectual property and could potentially get the artist and person being inked, sued.

If you think I'm exaggerating then have a quick google for Kat Von D's current court case brought by a photographer after she copied a photo he took of Miles Davis. She's likely to lose the case and has already blacked out much of her own ink in protest.

Aside from that...what if the brand you decided to have tattooed suddenly became unpopular for some reason? Many a fashion brand/designer has fallen foul of public opinion in the past.

People that have the gut to do something like that path usually go many doors shot but few great doors open usually.

All I’m thinking is yes it’s her choice and her face or body but actual logo branding is a bit risky in as much as logos and brands are in and out of fashion, now I’m sure she has her reasons and it did go with the matching adidas black tracksuit and puma trainers she was wearing, adidas forever but not YSL

I changed my mind, I don't care what you think.

Neither would she.

I didn’t ask you to care what I think, I asked for your thoughts on branded tattoos, which you have given, thanks

But you are happy to share your opinions and thoughts, bit one sided isn't it. Ever thought she might be hidding a scare or it may have a deeper meaning to the tattoo. Trust me I don't care. Happy fabbing

It's all changed now back in the early 80s.. generally the only face tattoos you'd see would be on nazi boneheads..

Gonna be controversial here but…shit tattoos are good tattoos. I hate hate those designed sleeves where you can tell it means nothing other than their mates have tattoos. It’s junk. Show me sone ink with a story, means something. I’d rather see a human scrapbook than designer crap.
