You are going along, minding life until BOOM - _it_ happens and you over react/kick into a bad habit/do something you are embarrassed about later.

What is that _it_ for you?

The one thing guaranteed to trigger me into chaos is police involvement in DA cases

Something similar happened to me recently, my neighbour was having a bonfire, burning rubbish and crap, it wasn’t a very big fire, but the wind blew the smoke over my direction.

I’m not sure what was burning but if you’ve ever smelt the smoke from a burn pit, it’s very a distinctive smell, this smell took me right back to being overseas, I broke out in a sweat, had that feeling in my tummy of impending doom, fear and dread.

It’s been a while since I was triggered like that, I’m glad that I’ve been given the coping skills to try and lessen and control these feelings when they are triggered.

Being accused and judged, then given the cold shoulder rather than speaking about things and asking for an explanation. Especially from people I care about and had supported when times were not so smooth for them. The shock and hurt certainly triggered my reaction.

When someone innocently said something in a conversation which caused a flashback to something horrible.

When someone belittled me and treated me with disrespect mocking me.

When someone I trusted and confided in ignored my words and acted as if I had never said them and disrespectfully pushed me on something I had stated I wouldn't do out of sheer respect for someone else. And then tried to make me feel bad for how it hurt them!

"Nowt really ... "

I would have said that but I have realised that I am starting to get angry behind the wheel with crap driving. I didn’t use to react but I can feel myself start to get angry more often now which never ends well.

I am now trying to be aware of that rise in tension and then need find things to deflect it onto rather than blowing up.

When I see a private ambulance, I can't even describe how it makes me feel.

Very little away from here.

On here it's fake people.

Those I know to be obsessed with what others are doing and literally keep files on every conversation and interaction.

Demonising others in private and claiming they are dangerous while acting like their fab bestie in the forums.

Even going as far as advising the others about what is being said about them privately but laying the blame at someone else's door.

I don't like being triggered but I'd prefer that to being directly involved.

"When I see a private ambulance, I can't even describe how it makes me feel."

It's the weirdly paradoxical nature for me.

It's got the word ambulance, but it's black, with no lights, and isn't in a terrible rush.

A slight misnomer if ever I saw one.

"Cognitive dissonance from a certain family member. Its toxic."

Families are fun aren't they.

If I could harness the gas from all the lighting, I could power a small balloon fit for a gentlemen hamster to circumnavigate the globe.

You have a right to feel how you feel. You aren't responsible for other people over reactions/assumptions/past. Its their issue to deal with. At least you didn't fuck off without trying to work things out.

Someone was texting me about a fantasy they wanted to play out, it involved slapping and hands round throats. It triggered me so badly I cried and had an anxiety attack.

Poor driving is annoying i suppose, but if you're rising to it then thats in your control, just ease off, chill, and turn the radio up a bit
