Have you ever seen anyone famous in the supermarket?

London

I’m racking my brains but I’m not sure I have. Perhaps they all now use Ocado so they don’t have to mix with the public?

Do you have any famous people in supermarket anecdotes? Did you get a selfie in the fruit and veg aisle with Ainsley Harriott with him holding your cucumber aloft? Did you get Sonya to sign your receipt at Lidl and a cheeky peck on the cheek?

Maybe you saw Chesney Hawkes buying the one and only free range chicken left on a Sunday afternoon in a Tesco Metro?

Or did you see Gary Lineker pick up a copy of the Guardian and a free coffee in Waitrose one morning?

Now is the time to share your sightings...

Kinda but I can’t remember his name, it was years ago and he was on one of the talent shows because he could swallow things and bring them back. The cashier recognised him and they got to chatting, he took her wedding ring and did his trick, was gross to see live and up close tbh

Daniel Craig coming out of my local coop. Wasn't long after Casino Royale was released. I was walking in and he literally bumped into me, I looked up said sorry, he smiled and said 'no worries' I thought, 'he looked tall, and familier, lovely blue eyes'

Then got home and it was all over social media that Daniel Craig had popped in to the Co-op. Turns out he was visiting his Dad who lived about 3 mile away

I also saw Katie Price in Coop, she was on holiday at the local log cabin retreat. She was lovely, really smiley, happy and chatty. I asked if she has visited before and she said 'no, but I will again, it's beautiful up here, ideal for time away and everyone is friendly' I told her it was lovely to see her and hope she enjoyed her stay'

Quite a number of years ago I was with a group of mates having an Easter weekend at Caister-on-Sea, near Great Yarmouth. I was in the local supermarket getting something for my tea, queuing up at the checkout when I was suddenly aware of a large looming shadow behind me. It was Lemmy from Motörhead buying cigs! I just looked up at him and said "You alright", he said "Yep, cheers mate". They were playing nearby that nigh and we didn't know. Was sold out though!

Not at a supermarket but I met Shawn Michaels at a restaurant once - we’d accidentally been given his table. Apparently he was fond of the restaurant and had a specific table he liked, and the management had messed up and gotten their days wrong, (it was Tuesday and they thought he was coming on Thursday or something like that). Anyway, the manager, completely embarrassed (this is a pretty nice restaurant) comes by and says “I’m so sorry, but we’d like to move you to another table if you could be troubled, and we’ll gladly compensate you for the cost of the meal and any other meal you’d like while you’re in town.” My sister and cousin were both like “Yeah that’s cool.” and I kind of played the asshole a bit. “I’m sorry, I just don’t understand. We’ve been here for 15 minutes - we’ve just ordered. Can’t we finish our meal here?” Then out of nowhere Shawn Michaels shows up next to the manager and says “Paul, these guys can finish. We’ll be at the bar. I got some time.” And I (being a big HBK fan) said “Oh wow, uh… I had no idea. Please feel free to give them the table.” Shawn was grateful, shook my hand and said thanks, then gave me a card with his number on it and told me to give him a call later. After working up the nerve, I gave him a call that night, and to make a long story short, we had a glorious 11 month love affair, man on man, that I shall never forget. Our bodies intertwined as one, and from the beauty of Morocco, to the French Riviera, to the snorkeling in the Galopagos, Shawn Michaels and I made glorious gay love to each other on six of the seven continents

London.

Was driving up Park Lane way back in the day, and the bloke in the open topped Merc in front of me was just oooooozing watts of charisma. He was a tad bit slow so I overtook just before Marble Arch, and as I drew abreast I noticed it was, Robert Redford! Also sold some stuff to Pete Townshend as well as Bryan Ferry, Robert Plant, and most of Depeche Mode. Met David Bowie V briefly too. There's Others but I think that's enough. I'm such a name dropper .....
