I've been told I'm a sigma male by a few people so a lone wolf and I enjoy my own company and happy with it. Excluding my child but, I can and alsways have been able to do things by myself and as much as enjoy company, I need my own space and place.

Alone but never lonely.

We all feel like it sometimes but it’s important to remember to look after yourself as its easy to spiral into a path thats not a great one. If you have any ways to help when you feel down or chat to someone about how you feel. A problem shared is half a problem as they say

This is exactly how I feel. I remember during Covid when people were really struggling on their own. I would have given anything to swap just for one day.

Hi op. I suffer mental health problems as well and shut myself away and won't see anyone. I don't really feel lonely but although I don't want to see anyone and tell them to stay away part of me wants to shout come and see me anyway

Have you been to your doctor about your depression? There is a lot of online support where you can refer yourself. Have you looked at mind? Also charities such as the samaritans arnt just there for people who are suicidal they are there for anyone to talk to. Good luck

Yeah I’ve had professional help , works for a while then I just go into a spiral again

I have bin lonely for about 7 months now . I miss being with someone. Not just for sex. For the cuddling on the settee. Spooning in bed everything that comes with being with someone. I am ok being by myself but sometimes that feeling that I'm 51 n never gonna meet someone starts goin over in my head n I start feeling sorry for myself. The other nite all I needed was someone to hug me n all I had was the pooches

I suffered through covid lockdowns

Then bullying at work led to serious mental health issues been diagnosed nearly a year now talking to my councillor helps and my meds seem to keep me on straight and narrow I have friends in Liverpool and in Colechester who I can talk to it’s a strange thing to say even in room full of people I still feel alone

Disappear in my own thoughts and reading helps me to unwind

Have had that feeling of being lonely and also feeling alone, it can be hard to get out of especially when you live alone and I also work alone for long periods. Luckily atm I'm back in the groove of enjoying my own company and using my time to keep active, bit when that slips off the loneliness does creep back in.

I’m a terrible single . Always been since young .

I hate being single , ( including no NSA or FWB lovers )

And is not about the sex …

Is just the bed is far too big and I can’t be bothered to get a single ^^.

Whenever I feel a pang of loneliness I remind myself what it was like living with a gaslighting bully who would ignore me for weeks on end. I felt far more lonely and alone back then than I ever do now.

Simply No.

I’m not lonely because I don’t have a relationship, I MISS my old relationship, I’m. Or lonely because it ended, as I still talk to her.

I also have some friends and people to call.

I feel lonely because I have no-one to share things with. I have a lot of love in me, I have a lot of happiness and joy aching to be given to someone and I have to amuse myself, which is boring, as mostly I don’t want to, I don’t like myself. (*sometimes.)

I feel lonely sat in conversations at the pub, because afterwards I go away and nobody to carry on that good vibe ‘oh, when Dave said this or that!’ Type thing. Nobody to romance or reminisce about good times.

Nobody to enjoy life with, art galleries, nature, sports or music events. I see these things and nobody to ask what their feelings are about them.

It’s complicated.

In my experience the older I've got, the more isolated I've become.

I'd say since lockdown,nothing has changed.

Friends family in the same position one week rolls into another, and before you know where you are, it's been more than 6 months since you spoke, after this time it's to difficult.

Still working full time and not the most easiest of shift pattern, it's work sleep eat repeat.

I just get on with it now

I've found feeling lonely interesting. I felt very empty and lonely before meeting my now ex husband. Then for the first few years of being together I didn't feel lonely (of course) but the later part of my marriage I felt incredibly alone and lonely, a different feeling to when I was actually single.

Now 1 yr post divorce I don't feel the crushing loneliness at all. I recognise when I haven't socalised over a weekend enough, and been too isolated, but find that makes me reach out to friends which is healthier.

Looking back I think the lonely feelings whilst being in a marriage were worse than anything I felt when single!
