The quietness when the snow is falling, almost makes it seem like a fairy tale,

Treading in fresh untouched snow,

The indivualality of each snow flake!

The way children's faces light up when they look outside and see the snow!

I have never had an incident of falling over ......... lots of other incidents yes but not falling over even when I smashed my head on the tailgate - I still stayed upright ..........

About the snow? In this country, very little...

Now if I could go back to Canada and see REAL snow again...... Now that's a totally different prospect

And they are completely geared up for it - unlike our pathetic attempts to cope (red warning for 10cms!!!! Who are the Met Office kidding!)

Herts

The main thing that stands out for me is when it's heavy enough to bring everything to a standstill, no transport, snowed in, can't get to work and the schools are closed. - 02/02/2009 comes to mind more than anything.

I was in a pretty bad place at the time and it really warmed my heart to see entire families out just spending quality time together, children squealing and giggling with delight and adults who actually seemed happy with genuine smiles all round. It was like for once, EVERY worry and stress of daily life was put behind you because you had no choice...

People seemed to take care of eachother more, if someone fell, people would rush to help them up, and I'm not afraid to admit that I was so happy, I cried.

I guess being in London where a lot of people won't make eye-contact, it was refreshing to see.

southend

I love watching it fall. Watching it now outside the patio window with a coffee in hand.

Unfortunately I'm not going to like it much later when I have to walk to work in it.

I live so close to work that everyone else will get sent home, and I'll have to stay. Not really that bothered, hourly paid, so it all counts.
