Mr shouted up the stairs to the daughter as he was leaving this morning "make sure you get some grub". Don't think I've heard him say grub before, I just say food, what about you?

Depends what food and what time of day, or if its a full meal or not.

Chish, scran, nosh, grub, food, nosebag, munchies, snacks and nibbles.

Or some days just 'cake'.
