The food was expensive enough and when I asked for sauce he was charging £1:50p for it and that was for a small portion of sauce. I usually have two different sauces that's 3 quid just for sauce on me chips!

Ffs I know things have gone up on price but I think that's ridiculous. They'll be charging for salt and vinegar next.

Do they do this where you live ?

All over

Rarely have them but I don't have sauce on mine. When I get home I heat up a tin of baked neans and put that on top

A pot of curry sauce is £1.

The sachets of ketchup and mayo are 20p each I think.

Ketchup used to be free from a bottle like at burger vans until they made it in sachets.

The kebab shop does small pots of mayo, chilli sauce, ketchup etc for £1

Have a drink in a Wetherspoons and borrow some sachets from the condiment trolley

The cheapest burger with chips was over 8 quid that's knocking on for a tenner with one sauce.

Too right.

These takeaways must be making good money on sauce alone

Things are going mad .

A bottle of water that was 17p is now 36p

That’s more then double .

And soaps have a big scoop cutted of in on of the sides . Same product , same package . Higher price , less quantity

Cheecky fuckers . A scoop less of soap

Is just getting stupid really

I refused to even pay for it. He could of poured a bit on or handed me the bottle like most do. But no £1:50p for small sauce and £2:50p for larger.

I believe many are jumping on the bandwagon with the price increases.

And it's not only shops. I know a farmer who has reduced the size of his bales of hay and increased the price

I don't really know from the chip shop but if you have a small pot of pickle from the Indian it's 90p

Nah. If more people en masse refused the pay the prices charged, the merchant would have to reduce the price they charge. We can vote with our feet and our purses/wallets.

Merchants should charge the prices we demand as customers, not the prices they foister upon us.

Not really, I would have politely declined as well. It’s very rare I go to a chippy these days. It used to be a cheap dinner, not any more!

People won’t be able to afford eating there and the business will suffer. The shop is probably struggling just as much with energy and other supply costs rising.

There is a saying that I’ve heard banded about:

“A rising tide lifts all.”

In my opinion, it’s only those who can swim.

My favourite pickled eggs. Felt like I was the only one who always buys them.
