Well, a dear elderly lady friend slipped and hurt her leg. She is now quite immobile and will be so for a little while. I wanted to get her a few books to read as she likes reading but she likes mystery like the Agatha Christie stuff. I am more into arty farty stuff myself , so not a clue of current mystery novels. Any help will be much appreciated .Thanks

I would but she is 82yo and not into technology and online stuff so I don't want to stress her out

Manchester (she/her)

I did a quick Google search for alternatives and found suggestions of Ruth Rendell, Margaret Millar, and Josephine Tay.

Consider if she needs large print or audio format.

"Book Tokens make for a wonderful and thoughtful gesture."

Seems she's not mobile enough to get out and spend them?

"LARGE PRINT WHATEVER YOU GET "

I think so too, though no doubt she will tell me off for implying she is old
