Wild swimming.

I’m heading to Glen Coe end of may… and I want to find a few secluded spots for swimming, I don’t mind them being off the grid as I’m happy walking. But I’d like them to be good spots, a decent pool or waterfall would be amazing. I’ve not been to up that way in long while so any recommendations on Face…. Type groups, or links to swimming spots up there much appreciated.

Or the avid swimmers out there that already know good spots feel free to drop me a message on where to find them even the grid square or what three words

I follow a group for north of England wild swimming and people often post about their travels to Scotland and I always think I must add that to the list but I never actually make a note or bookmark it so I’m pretty useless

I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time OP, I’m very jealous.

The river Etive which flows from Glen Coe down Glen Etive beside Buachaille Etive Mor has plenty of places - it's also pretty well known as a kayaking location so check what's downstream before you jump in .

Loads of info on line. Not sure about the River Coe, only place I've been near it is the footbridge crossing going up to Stob Coire Nan Lochan and there's no way anyone is wild swimming that stretch from what I remember. Bound to be locations lower down towards Loch Achtriochtan where the land flattens out though.

I shall be checking out some Facebook swimming groups and asking for recommendations and I’ll definitely be exploring on the way up there. My favourite spot I found is still silver saves of morar. And overnight camping in the beach there too and swimming up the estuary

The Etive is stunning have swam and kayaked it in the past. Gorgeous lochs up there as well.

Thanks for the tips, and locations they’re on my map and logged in… I’ll be packing my van tomorrow ready for heading off Friday. Stopping in Malham in Yorkshire for a walk and climb then the long drive to Scotland sat morning.

Not a hardcore wild swimmer buy I do enjoy swimming in the Thames during the summer! Once you get above the Tidal Zone it's lovely.

And there are some lovely secluded spots for skinny dipping at night once you get above Walton Bridge
