I'm now going to sound like a proper geek which I am. So Wales having a lot of sheep (no jokes please) had lots of wollen mills. Each of the mills had their own style of weaving a blanket. So each blanket you can tell which mill it came from and roughly when it was produced.

And we have such variety, we have the tapestry blankets, the usual plaids and checks, carthenni and honeycomb quilts. Told you I was a geek
