Just had someone message me, soon as I sent a picture the reply was ‘sorry I’m not into guys with beards’

I do think the biggest giveaway is it’s in my username. Any similar frustrations?

I can understand people having a preference, but you'd think people would do their research first before sending you a message. Still, a well-maintained beard (or goatee, in my case) isn't a bad thing, so it's their loss in my humble opinion

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I have people message me to tell me they find me unattractive and fat and wouldn't touch me with someone else's.

People I've not messaged before.

We've had couple start a conversation then say we aren't their type as we're not a couple. Then ask us to prove we are. Our profile clearly explains we are genuine but don't live together. So why start the conversation. I'm not sending you my family pics tk prove anything

Personally, I started to grow a fond for beards but it only happened recently.

I understand it's frustrating. This place can be crazy at times. I would just move on.

I had a guy once telling, I must be a man because it's very obvious from my profile? And he went into a lengthy argument with me. I did entertain it for longer than I should have at that time but I just wanted to see how far his stupidity would go and he didn't disappoint me in that sense

I say it on my profile i don't like hair but 1 out of 2 men always got facial or lots of body hair. Please don't message people if they stated their dislike for certain things. They even admit they don't fit the criteria but still message. It's just waiting eachothers time?

I’ve had people chat with me and after a while ask me if I’d shave it off… “no a beards for life, not just for Christmas”

I wouldn’t message a woman or couple of their profile said they dislike beards… same as I wouldn’t if it said BBC only. But within the forums I’d hope it’s ok to message, chat and flirt within the setting or thread.

Like many things in life, you will not be everyone’s cup of tea … but you will be someone’s single malt!

I have had a beard on and off for years - I will say that in the recent years there has been a lot more acceptance/appreciation/desire for beards. Which I am very happy with.

It's pretty obvious in a few of my pics that I have a beard so I can only assume that the couples I've never spoken to before, message out of the blue with an instruction are testing my resolve.

Why they think it's acceptable to tell a complete stranger that they should shave their beard off and they might consider putting me on their to-do list for future meets I've no idea.

I wonder how they would feel if they got introductory messages telling them to lose the pubes or they won't get to meet me?

I have a beard, and look AWFUL without one. Like, really bad. I've had it since I was 15 and I have no intention of shaving it off. I have done on a couple of occasions and I look like an gammon. The beard adds definition, character and a certain level of style. It can be deflating to see a 'no beards' in a profile, especially when everything else seems to be a perfect match, but each to their own.

They’re just expressing their preferences. You wouldn’t find it weird if they messaged to say how attractive you were.

Some woman like a beard, some don’t. I have no issue with that. Had a beard since I was early-20s and it’s not going anywhere.

A woman should like me for me, beard n all.

People tend to forget that beards can also be shaven off if the right girl asked, some folks will accommodate. I have a beard. But I don’t much mind if I shaved it either. It grows back.

There is a definite wave, I have decided it's Tom Hardy's fault, he shaved his beard off and it's been in decline ever since.

There is apparently a "thing" where the less common a beard becomes the more attractive a beard becomes, then as it becomes more common it's attractiveness diminises.

I'm sticking with Tom Hardy's fault :p

I'm going to the sheep shearer today or tomorrow, depending on time.

I'm just debating, just trim the sides down like an extended goatee, or just tidy up the full beard, been about 8 months since a proper cut (since my dogs accident).

For the bearded guys, if you had a full bush to work with would you go extended goatee or just tidy a full beard ?
