Warnings have been issued about the Asian Hornet which looks like a large wasp but can actually kill a human if stung.

Tom wonders why we are warned about poisonous snakes and spiders but little about the deadly Asian Hornet.

What's going on here guys. The Asian Hornet is literally flying under the radar...

They’re some evil bastards and no mistake guvnor; A single Asian Hornet can wipe out an entire honey bee colony.

If anyone spots an Asian Hornet, they are strongly advised to contact their local council.

I caught one years ago. I had it identified by the Natural History Museum. Unusual for my part of the country apparently.

We need to get rid of them by unleashing a wave of lizards.

Then to deal with the lizard problem we need loads of snakes.

Then we need a wave of mongooses to kill the snakes.

Once that's done we will import a specific gorilla that kills mongooses.

Then we will shoot all the gorillas

The first Asian Hornet nest has been found in London and there have been more sightings this year than the last seven combined. They can wipe out a bee colony in the blink of an eye.

Idiotic Science types will be queuing up to rename this Hornet H301 or something similar to head off possible racial attacks on Asian humans. It's called Asian Hornet because it comes from A S H I A

What's going on here? It's all over the news

I watched a documentary about the Asian Hornet. The bees in Asia have developed a defence strategy against the Hornet. They smother it and start rubbing against it causing heat by friction. This kills it.

Bees in other parts of the world are totally vulnerable and have no defence.

That is amazing news; the bees actually learning over time and with so many doubtless losses (generations in fact), to implement a technique with which to efficaciously defend themselves.

In the documentary, it was on discovery years ago. It showed a Hornet killing a whole honey bee colony in North America. They seemed to have no defence against it. But the bees in Japan were using this honeyball defence.

Maybe with the spread of the Internet and social media the bees everywhere learnt the strategy...
