Alone with my thoughts, in the dead of night

My mind races, my heart takes flight

Sleep evades me, I toss and turn

My soul yearns for the peace I yearn

Silent darkness, a blanket of despair

I long for a friend, someone to share

But here I am, all alone

Lost in thoughts that I can't disown

The night is long, the hours drag by

My mind aches, I can't deny

But I will wait, I won't give in

For tomorrow is a new day to begin.
