"Hey, OP Yes, I do. I have two best friends who I know would drop anything to help me out (and vice versa). Then I have a couple of circles of friends who I’ve known for years and whose company I enjoy. I try to see them whenever I can and we always have a laugh. I like having them in my life. I also have a few people on the periphery, with whom I chat occasionally - either in person or by text. Whilst I like them and will happily chat, my life is not empty without them. They usually migrate up from the acquaintance pool. Acquaintances are two-a-penny. Mainly work-based and ok for the occasional catch up if I bump into them. And then there’s family….. " How do you begin categorising family

"Friends mates and acquaintances? Do you separate the people you know into these categories? What is a mate to you and where does the relationship cross to being a friend? A true friend. " There's no real line to cross it's a spectrum. But as I spend most of my time I. Australia, everyone is mate.
