It's a tad drizzly here.

It's a tad quiet on here.

So I thought I'd start a simple thread - what's made you smile recently? It can be anything, no matter how small. How silly.

What's bringing you joy over this long weekend?

Aww that's so adorable! Why do we lose that unbridled sense of pride when we accomplish things as we get older? It's such pure joy, really smile inducing.

Seeing my primary school caretaker in town. I always invite him to the café for a drink but his excuse is always that he's rushing home from the bank. I've heard it so many times!

He's always tells me how he remembers me being the same age as my daughter is now

He is one of the people in my life who I will always aspire to be. His generosity and kindness never goes unnoticed

It's not here. I was really feeling myself earlier (have you noticed that people are more likely to openly check you out when it's sunny? Had a field day counting looks from middle aged men earlier).

But it'll shine again soon.

Hey Lorenzo you beautiful being.

Being weird together is epic. You two do it so effortlessly. Hope you're enjoying all the cuddles. And you make pancakes in that apron of yours.

One thing that has made me smile today? Reading my friends happy. I've had some lovely messages and voicenotes today expressing happy and it makes me smile a lot.

Hope you’re smiling too

"I thought I'd start a simple thread - what's made you smile recently?"

Memories from spending an amazing midweek night with someone.

My dog carefully climbing up onto an armchair to watch telly with the humans.

The garden beginning to look like a garden again instead of the wasteland it turns into through winter.

Cede’s current profile pic.

Leftover roast pork to make indulgent sandwiches with.

All sorts of things. I smile a lot.

Today on my way to the pie shop. A old man dropped his wallet, just as I was about to tell him, a young chav ( roadman or whatever kids with socks tucked into their trackie a call themselves ) picked it up, now I was expecting to give chase, but no he gave it him back and helped him on his scooter.

Hats off to that young lad.

How brilliant my daughter was yesterday after being pooed on by a pigeon on the way to school. Not only did she say it was the pigeon telling her she shouldn't have been running late, but she happily told everyone about it, including her dad and brother. She thought it was hilarious. Plus she thought it great that I didn't get pooed on by a bird until I was 12, so she's beating me (she's 8). Crazy child

I had the best time with someone during the week so that smile will likely last a while.

My sons on our family group chat and their banter with each other. It is so funny and makes me feel very proud of them all.

Some news a friend shared.

My dog, she's had a whole wellness day today.

It’s been a lovely bright and sunny day here. I spent a chunk of the morning disturbing the peace with a chainsaw, getting a bunch of logs cut up and stored. Spent the rest of the day on the sofa outside reading and listening to the birds and the new leaves whispering in the trees. Been smiling all day x
