I look like a tramp I've decided. I'm scared of clothes shops. ( and hairdressers ) hate everything about it and i have the fashion sense of a caveman. I need a shopping date. Woman, man, gay, straight I don't care. I just need help lol x

Anyone else scared of clothes shops?

Not scared but I'm not keen. To many uptight women asking bored blokes "does my bum look big in this?"

Men and kids shouldn't have to go shopping, they hate it. I always go on my own.

No , just find them soooooooo boring .

There needs to be a man pit full of car magazines and stuff , but you are lucky if there is even a chair to die in .

We went through a faze years ago where we , as a family ,went everywhere barefoot ,we still do now when we can , and I remember us walking past a shoe shop in Droitwich and getting glared at by the manager who was stood outside .

It is easy once you get into the habit of actually doing it. Walk in shop, see what interests you, try it on, if you like it, walk to counter and buy. Simples.

Best to buy what you like. You need to develop your own ideas of what suits or else you just become a fashion sheep. That can look silly.

So take a deep breath, visit a few stores, try on some clothes, and buy.

That all makes total sense. I've honestly tried this loads. I panic lol pick the first thing I see and buy it. I've a whole wardrobe full of crap that's, to big, to small or looks like a dude from one direction should be wearing it. Maybe hypnotherapy would help x

You are suffering from social anxiety then. I'd look at that because that can be quite debilitating. Do you get it in other situations?

What to do is think of happy thoughts as you walk into shop. Ignore the others in there. Alternatively here is a good tip. Approach a sales assistant (preferably manager), tell them you get nervous at shopping, and make a joke of it.

They are paid to help not stand a chew gum. So get them to do their job and walk you through the clothes try ons etc. Try that and see how you get on.

I agree at whats said above you need something you feel good in and something thats suits your personality.

You can buy off the net but its no fun plus most things wont fit. Or wont look as good on you as the model,saying that you should see some of the models backs its all pins lol

I bet every single person on heres got things in the wardrobe theyve bought and never worn.

If theyre my size Ill take em off your hands. Or get em on ebay or carboot em. Happy shopping buddy

Some stores offer personal shoppers for free. They are not all the high end market shops either. They will advise you with your clothes style

hate shopping for clothes as well .. i get quite depressed at the thought of it to be honest.

Think Debenhams or John Lewis may be a good option as both stores have personal shoppers who will help you select things that you maybe would have never considered. Hope it goes well for you.
