I think it started since social media..

Why do most people now blame everyone else for there actions!?

And not take responsibility for there own free will decisions..

All these gamblers who spunked there money..

If they won you wouldn’t hear a bleat out of them..

But it’s everyone elses fault they gambled..

Drinkers.. drug takers..etc etc...

Carlisle usually

I think there have always been many people unwilling to take responsibility for their own poor choices and actions.

Social media may make it more apparent. But I'm sure it was always an issue before that existed.

I think we overlook situational factors when making assessments about people.

Well I don't just think it, it's a proven phenomena. Correspondence bias.

Because we live in a world of cotton wool kids. They’ve been wrapped up so tightly that they don’t know how to handle the real world. So of course their misfortune can not be their fault.

It definitely did not start with social media. There are some who can’t/won’t take responsibility for their actions and others who will. That’s been the case since humanity began

I've lived all my life in NI and blaming others for your own actions has been a life choice in itself for generations. It has nothing to do with social media.

In every job I've had over the last 40 years there have always been those who will never take responsibility.

At every level from owners to management to warehouse staff and customers as well.

Some of it is down to people's nature while for others it's nurture.

All social media has done is given them another outlet.

Accountability, it’s something that’s developed not taught. Lots of people, especially in my generation, don’t know how to take account of their own actions and understand that for every decision, there’s consequences entirely of their own making

But I implore you not to mix accountability with addiction as that’s a very slippery slope.

Its much easier to push the blame than to look yourself in the mirror and hold yourself accountable.. Especially if you don't like what you see.. Even harder to take action to change and become a better person

.. Far easier to be in denial... Especially if you're friends are enablers

Now that's is highly insightful. Very rare to find a friend that will challenge, I love people like that.
