Hi guys,

I am interested in going to the naturist beach there this summer but I cannot walk far, does anyone know if it is reachable, ie footpath or towpath, that a mobility scooter would cope with, or is it a long walk on sand. Please PM if you know, many thanks.

I would say it’s defiantly not ideal for a mobility scooter. I’m young (ish) and even I dread the walk there and back lol.

You’d be best off walking but give yourself a lot of time to rest stop. But once there….. you can relax!

Depending what you’re there for it might be worth me mentioning the first part of the beach is normally the real nudist bit. Occasional couples and singles. There for sunbathing and enjoying the freedom.

The “action”….95% male is at the far end which would double your distance to walk to.

Hope this helps

Thank you for the info, I have now given up on the idea as others who have sent a D M have said much the same as you, and to be honest I seriously can't walk far even on a good day. Maybe I could get a lift by helicopter Someone, anyone?? LOL.

Apparently looking at the latest info available on Trustpilot and others write up, the walk there is not easy, and the beaches are not clean and tidy. The nudist beaches are owned privately and they are saying strewn with rubbish broken bottles and remnants of beach BBQ's. So I guess it's suck it and see, I have given up on the idea as I can't walk the distance , a mobility scooter could not handle the sand and also one has to get over a set of stairs over the sea wall.

Sadly we do seem to share the environment with some total toss pots.

I the 1970s the desalination plant in Jersey used to output copiuos amonts of hot salty water into the cove beneath it.Soon some enterprising locals created an ad hoc jacuzzi by piling up bouders and pebbles. It was a fantastic facility, particularly on sunny winter days.

Unfortunately, Saturday night d*unken morons used to sit in it drinking from bottles which they then took great delight in hurling against nearby rocks.

Result, no longer safe to walk barefoot on most of the adjacent beach. Talk about shitting on one's own doorstep.

Got to be a combination of alcohol and a pathetic upbringing. Even better if the non naturist residents can use the behaviour as ammunition for excluding visitors.

We visited today as we don’t live far and have never been. It’s definitely a bit of a hike and to be fair, the beach it’s self is horrible. Loads of stones, bits of metal and rubbish everywhere.

Not quite warm enough at the moment to get a sense of what it’s like normally in terms of visitors, but at least we know where it is now!

"The Range was stocking cheap canoes last year not sure about this year."

From experience, if you show up at a naturist beach by sea, you initially get glared at for being an apparent perv until you get your kit off and enter into the spirit of things.

I had this all the time when I used my sea kayak to get to Fairlight Glen from Hastings instead of making the long trek down from the top and, even worse, back up again.

Will try St Osyth, by sea, some time but suspect it could be hard work at low tide.

When it's hot , it can get busy.. went on a few hot days last year,, lots of couples and single ladies at the beginning, to the middle of the beach...
