It sucks, because its another High Street shop gone. But hell, when your TV comes pre-loaded with Netflix apps and all that, people aren't going to trudge out to a shop to rent a DVD (if they have the one in you want) then take it back the following day and risk fines if they forget!

Most closed down over past 2 yes anyway. Used to be one every street bow only one I know of. I can't actually remember last time I watched a DVD. That's what the internets for (and perving of course)

These types of outlets had their heydays but technology has forced them out of business.

Nobody sends film for processing anymore, not many people go into High St travel agents to book their hols, films are available easier from elsewhere than the High St, and music can be bought online, when you want, and delivered electronically instantly.

Any bricks and mortar business that can't compete with the net WILL go under.

The industry that is thriving these days are delivery companies. And there's a LOT of eastern europeans running them!

p.s. That wasn't a dig at Eastern Europeans. We've had deliveries at 10pm before and they are prepared to work long hours to get the job done. Good luck to them.
