Nope. It is life. Film of soldiers fighting, film of victims of bombing, films of childreen starving in some part of the world, films of nasty fanny and cock on tv...we've seen it all. Nothing shock now

I've no doubt the Victorians/Edwardians thought it equally disgusting when the first train crash and/or it's aftermath was captured on celluloid for the first time was equally distasteful, but that was how news/media was collected then,. and mobile phones is how it is now...

So are all the tv companys that rush to be the first to film anything like that to show on the news sick too?

I have to say though that getting my phone out to film something like that would'nt be my first instinct

Not sure why its sick, nothing they could have done, it's human nature to be inquisitive or news wouldn't feature in our daily lives as much.

Sometimes bystanders video footage can be useful and has as been said its the way of the world. Im sure the media machine would pay quite alot for some footage. If you dont like it just dont read a newspaper or watch any tv because death, misery and poverties all around us

For almost everything there is an 'Off' button.

Youtube and TV included.

If some people happen to be there when these terrible things have happened, filming it can often help with investigations as to how it happened and answer many questions for families and friends of those who suffered. But unfortunately there will always be others that have sick reasons for doing so.

"people buy news.... "

True....they're supplying a demand for shocking tv...

Demanded by US...and yes...

We are all very sick..

But why do you feel the need to judge others and make people feel like they are some kinda freak for being interested in the events of life?

Absolutely mobile cameras are the new media that can inform the public of things way sooner than the press or news channels.

There will be somebody with a camera close to any disaster or anything else good or bad filming stuff as it happens, and broadcasting it across the internet within seconds.

Its not sick unless its for there own personal use to jerk off to than you could they are sick!

it don't shock me anymore, have witnessed people filming sick things many many times. so now i always make a barrier out of salvage sheets and various other bits of equipment we carry to preserve peoples dignity. people have a strange fascination with dead bodies! me? i hope i go the rest of my career without having to see another one, but that ain't going to happen!!!

It's a difficult one to answer in a way. The coverage of the flames etc was filmed by a passer by with a mobile and thats what most of us will have seen on the TV news. That had a value both in terms of news coverage but also because it was filmed before rescue services arrived at the scene so provides vital evidence of the scene seconds after the event happened. As for people filming people dieing, well we don't know whether thats true or not, the fatalities may have happened instantly and it's unlikely the cameraman could have saved anyone anyway.

From a personal perspective, I remember being in the Death Pens at Hillsborough and later watching the news coverage in the days that followed and being annoyed that Sports Cameramen who were at the game to photograph the action on the pitch had turned their cameras onto the death pens and had photograped thousands of pictures of men, women and children being crushed to death in front of thier lenses, and doing nothing to help. However, retrospectively I reached the conclusion really within a matter of days that the photographers pictorial record was invaluable and they were right to take those photos as they provide real evidence of what happened at the time as there were other people there to help with the rescue work.

i think its a bit OTT to suggest people who play on games dont have a grasp on reality
