Interested to know what people on the forum think the perfect veg is and how they use it. Is it a simple potato and its versatility to make chips, mash and roasties?

Or maybe a nice firm carrot? There is a certain je ne sais quoi - oh, so very special - about a firm, young carrot…

I’m a sweetcorn fan… but it doesn’t go with everything.

So it has to be tha mighty po-tay-toe.

You can boil them. Mash them, stick em in a stew.

Depends on the intended purpose OP.

Obvs the potato is a veg of wonder for it's diverse applications in the culinary world - from the humble jacket potato, to thick cut deep fried chips, dauphinoise, croquettes, those little potato footballs you can get at asda, cheesy mash, gratin and a world of alternatives. It's an amazing thing!

But if you're looking for something to shove up your chuff you may be best served by a butternut squash. ??
