Technology in my opinion is not rubish what think is we should be more conscious how technology is shaping the way we live and how is starting being used to replace humans in work places just to benefit greedy companies.

The same way we talk about climate change we should be also worrying about this issue because if we don't look into it with resilience , we will be found ourselves presionners of a very dark time to live where we will be totally atvthe mercy of governments, big cooperations and banks where they vwill decide who can live a beautiful live and who will need to fight in their arena to survive . I may have described an apocalyptic future but is my view when comescto Technology . I love Technology but this should never be allowed to replace humans in tasks/work, that are so important for us to survive in the actual world economy system .

Would be great living in a world where machines replaced humans and every single human had in exchange a good quality of life , didn't need to go work , where our needs were controlled in a fair and balanced way , where nature and humans they could live in a more respected way . Unfortunately this is a vision of the paradise on Earth that is impossible to archive because the most powerful people don't want to open hands from their power

Not a fan of it, the more we use it the more it controls us,

Eventually we will be so dependent on it we couldn’t shut it down if we wanted to

It’s becoming out of control

I think the problem is we get the technology first then think about its effects afterwards.

I think tech is great. I love the internet, I love being able to access my bank 24/7, being able to speak to and see my family on the continent and in the far east for no more than the cost of my device and the broadband, the diagnostic tools available to the medical profession etc

The problem isn't tech it's how us lot use it

Not really a fan of twchnology, even though I crave to have the latest gadgets, I don't purposely go out and buy them as I' happy with what I have now. If what I have breaks, then I do buy the upgraded versions. If I don't have it to begin with then why need it from when it comes out? Life qas much more rewarding beforw this vast majority of new tech came out and it's a shame to see that Technology is too advance for this day in age that it's slowly taking our jobs.

Bring back the old days where Technology wasn't such a key part of our lives and we were much happier.

What tech do you have a problem with?

I don't like the way that banks are making it almost necessary to use on line banking but it is still possible to avoid that by using the post office to withdraw or pay funds in.

I was sceptical of tech since I first saw an escalator.

Aside from those physically unable to do so, does the human race so lazy as to not climb stairs??

Lifts/elevators are a good thing though!

I live mostly off the grid these days. A puritanical lifestyle, living off the land, drinking organic Gin, a million miles away from any technology or away from any artificially-sentient beings.

I still remember the good ole days when we had pulleys, levers, coiled springs, cogs, gears and other mechanical goodies. None of this fangled positronic nonsense.

Innovation?

Progression?

Capitalism?

Laziness?

Technology is always inevitable in advanced civilisations in my opinion, and it takes on different forms. Go back in time and drop a bicycle infront of a tribe of hunter gatherers and they’d probably look at that like it’s a space ship haha

Are they fearing a Skynet type AI takeover (as in The Terminator films) and subsequent eradication of the human race by the machines?

I wouldn't live without it.

Imagine having to wake up before everyone else and put the fire on, then walk down to the well or river to fetch the water for breakfast and bathing.

Then, doing the laundry by hand and sweeping the floors with a broom -although I do that still before vacuuming so I get most of the dog hair up.

in time the human race will look back at what it is doing with technology and wish it wasnt so.

thankfully most of us will not be around to see it but already nations are fighting remotely and thats the start of the end.

google has a massive property which houses a mock city. and in this city are robots acting as police.

they stand on street corners watching, listening and since they bought boston dynamics and further developed the atlas robot it can run fast, jump, defend itself from attacks and access computers to identify everyone it sees.

it wont be long before it has a gun and can make instant life changing decisions without the errors people make when it comes to law enforcement.

you can see atlas and other robots they are developing for war and public duty.

film makers often warn us about the future for a very good reason.

because more often that not what starts as science fiction becomes fact.

god bless.

This is basically the communist view of technology, the people own the mine, the people dig by hand with spades, but are encouraged to innovate & invent machines , then the work is less, the profits are higher so they build a leisure centre that’s free to use fir the workers and they work 4 days instead of 5 but on the sane pay.

But people don’t like having to constantly learn to use the new machines all the time do they ?

I dont like the digital side to music, games or dvds, As all your paying for is a case and printed paper and thats all you own worth a pound.

You dont own the game and you dont own the film and you cant sell it if your ever short of money.

uk you cant sell it but euro you can sell.

No internet, you cant download the game or play the game, if the owners decide to remove the game from there servers you have nothing.

A bought item has become rented in this digital tech climate.

Unfortunately in this present there's people dying because they have no access to food or even water, look a Yemen as an example. Unfortunately most the times we tend to forget that because we are lucky.

Unfortunately also factory's and the all production line of the economy have started already replacing human resources for robots and or even AI. I don't say technology is bad what i say is that technology is not in our favour on some areas but in favour of the greedy powerful people .

So you end up with sports direct Amazon long hours and min-wages instead yes but the profit all goes to the one greedy intellect who invented it

You know no one on the entire planet dies any more from famine ? It’s been eradicated over the last 100 years due to technology.

The amount of people taken off streets and fields with no guarantee of food each day, into work in factories and warehouses. Massive improvements in health and longevity.

The only losers are the ones who can’t accept or embrace change.

It all started with the spinning Jenny and has gone downhill from there.

Is not about giving up from technology but the way technology is replacing human workforce without caring of the consequences for millions of humans that they are and they will be affected, mostly because this transaction have no back up to support the workers but instead is created just to fill up the pockets of the most greedy

I agree mostly however a lot of people are complaining about tech while using tech to complain about it. I just wondered what people are willing to give up and what tech they can live without

"Technology in my opinion is not rubish what think is we should be more conscious how technology is shaping the way we live and how is starting being used to replace humans in work places just to benefit greedy companies.

Alot of the tech that has been mentioned here has been created it wasnt enough profit for them, instead they closed the factory down and its made in a cheap labour country instead.

As goes for deaths they are plenty of them in cheap labour countrys there life is worth nothing.

Land is pinched and pittance labour still exist all run by big corporate companys from food to tires to industry.

when we become cheap labour it will come back to the uk.

Technology doesn't just mean electronics, humans have advanced through new technologies. I'm sure that at some point in history, the wheel was considered as hi-tech. And, the Romans managed to build a huge empire built on their advanced technology.

Why we need electronic technologies built into everything baffles me though, I believe that's its not always for our benefit but more for bank's and industry's; they can capture information (after all, information is power) on us so that we can be more readily exploited.

That all said, life is generally better with more electronic gadgets... but beware, big brother and sister are watching!

I myself make almost 6 years i don't have Internet at home because i found for myself unnecessary , i use a mobile phone with unlimited Internet , is more than enough . I don't have a smart tv , my tv have probably 20 years plus , still a great quality television . But this is not the technology people should give up to creat a balance and que issue is not the technology itself in reality but the minds behind.

In my opinion is that, what we will be doing to win a wages to be able to live if we will become unnecessary . If they existed new ideas and already jobs that we could do in favor to replacing human workforce for automated machines, robots and AI ,but the reality is that is not happening because the main is here is more money for the greedy ones

I remember when i was kid i woust to hear my grand dad and dad saying that once the big cooperations becomes owners of the most fertile land where food is produced

If we see what the biggest cooperations own, most of them own the food production chain of the all world
