..silences.

Do you feel the need to talk constantly when in company?

Or do you stfu and relax in companionable silences?

Why does it seem OK to say to someone 'you're quiet' and not OK to say 'can you stop talking please'

Oh I love a comfortable silence but that tends to be with people I know better or am naturally comfortable with anyway

They do say silence is golden

I can and do ask people to stop talking if it’s too much. I even cut contact with someone who just never ever stopped, even to the point he would just carry on talking over me when I tried to get a word in.

I’m extremely shy so if sat with someone I don’t know or have just met I’m usually sat in silence inwardly panicking that I should be saying something and then panicking about what I should talk about. It makes me all hot and clammy just thinking about that!!

I tend to gravitate to chatterboxes because they do all the heavy conversation lifting and they don’t make you feel awkward.

Two introverts and you can cut the air with the silent panic of neither speaking. There’s nothing comfortable about that I can tell you!

It really depends on the company.

In groups I can be quiet. One on one, if I'm nervous I probably talk too much.

Depends on the situation, but I like people who don’t feel the need to break a silence. I like silence it’s nice. Sometimes me and the mrs just sit in the car saying nothing, enjoying the peace.

Just the feeling of the bubble really isn't it.

If you have that bubble together it doesn't really matter.

You could be anywhere, although it should be noted that certain behaviours can lead to criminal charges.

Yeah I kind of feel like this.

I mean, I've done a lot of talking, about all the things.

I love quiet. I get overly chatty when I'm nervous, but I don't feel awkward at all during stints of silences.

I think I'm shy or nervous with some people and with others I feel completely at ease to be myself..

Silenta is golden. My neighbour Keeps say the area is too quiet. Should I host a gangbang to create a bit of noise?

I feel like this sometimes about my neighbourhood. It's eerie how quiet and still it is at times..

Maybe build up to the gangbang with an alternative tea party first

One on one or small groups and i love chatting and drawing shy types out of their shell a bit with lots of open ended chat and banter.

Large groups where it feels competitive and gets louder and louder is when I clam up.

I'm not a big talker. Silence doesn't bother me, but I can feel when someone isn't comfortable with my disinclination to fill it. The poor loves.

This. Definitely this.

Not many luxuries in life like space, time and silence, got to enjoy it.

When you're sitting with a companion, enjoying a drink, chatting and it leads to a pregnant pause that dovetails into a comfortable silence, that's when our senses heighten: you can feel the aura, interpret body language that would otherwise be indistinguishable and, for me in particular, really take in the other person's scent or cologne.

Talking and listening is fine but I equally discern more during those mutually quiescent moments!

I don't usually feel the need to fill silence but it can be awkward sometimes.

This morning I was with some friends one of who just kept flaming talking, a combination of nerves and a need to unload I think. I left eventually because I might as well not have been there.

Conversation is about listening as much as talking
