Raoul Moat TV drama

Reports that this three part TV remake will not feature Gazza or anyone playing the part of Gazza who appeared with a few beers and a fishing rod to talk Moaty down. The Chief of Police would not let gazza through his cordon of men and Moaty went on to shoot himself. Was not letting gazza try a mistake and why is he not in the TV series.

Should any 'random' who turns up and tries to interfere in police be part of a story of the main character ?

Do all the Police officers, call handlers, Police dogs, office cleaners and anyone who ever sold Moat a Ginsters get a part ?

Will any news reporters get a part ?

Gazza was just a random in this .... nothing more.

Merseyside bias Granny. If he had played for one of the two great Merseyside teams then you would sing a different tune. And by great Tom means Liverpool and Accrington Stanley.

If Gazza had been allowed through then possibly a life would of saved. One think is certain. We will never know.

Luckily, the removed his crocodile shoes before he went in, telling him "you'll see them later, Aligator"

Gazza IS in the TV series, but he's playing the role of an undercover officer. You probably won't see him.

In what way would the world have benefited from his life being saved exactly?

I apologise for piggybacking on your pun but I've called remote controls "Raoul Moats" ever since this debacle.

Moaty was cornered and no way out. Gazza could of shared his fishing rod and a few beers and maybe just maybe saved a life and been a hero...

We will never know

I don’t think this program should have been made as it makes a mockery of all the people who have been killed by this man, this is real life,a lot of people never got to go home to their families.

I thought it was an interesting series. The only thing I didn't like was the scene of the chavs in the pub singing "Raoul Moat, he's our mate, he kills coppers". To me, that was gratuitous and unnecessary, and really does rub salt in the wounds of those affected.

"So is Moaty a hero or a villain ?"

He was a bully, hit his girlfriend and a child. Jealous thug who’s narcissistic mindset wouldn’t allow her to move on or make her own life decisions. So brave that he shot an unarmed Police Officer, who also ended up as a dead victim.

Fuck him and if there’s a hell I hope he’s suffering there.

I watched it and thought it was very good. Great acting all round. He was no hero, he was nothing but pure evil who set out to destroy lives. He took the coward's way out because he didn't want to go to jail x

It's not even a legitimate question. There was no justification for his behaviour which was callous in the extreme.

Hear hear - exactly that!

Tom - the fact that, by even asking, you don't seem able to tell if Moat's behaviour was heroic or villainous doesn't reflect well on you.

I think it's sick to glorify this with a programme.

What kind of people are we.

Victims families having all this thrown back at them is beyond despicable.
