What was it and where did you go?

And why was it the best day out?

Niagra falls it's breathtaking. Taking the maid of the mist boat tour was amazing.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

A day in the Everglades with my Dad. It was perfect for so many reasons, not least it was the last one we had before he actually couldn't walk unaided.

In the UK it was taking Bob out over Exmoor to see the area and visit some of the towns. That was the perfect day.

Apart from my grandchildren I think my favourite days out where when me and Jay just spent time on out own. Walking in the countryside and just having a picnic

Can't choose between a day trip to Paris on Eurostar with our daughter and son-in-law. Loved it for so many reasons but mainly because we went all together.

Or the open day at the Big Cat Sanctuary in Kent. So many things to do and see.

Ah, Eden Walk for the middle classes. Too posh for me!

Back in 2018, rather than go on a winter holiday, we tested out a few cities on a day trip basis, to see if we wanted to go back for longer city breaks

First flight out in the morning, last flight back at night

We managed Bruges, Dublin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Cologne in a little over a week

It was a great (if slightly knackering) way of spending 10 days off

I think all in, between us, it worked out at just over £300

The only one not on the repeat list was Cologne
