just been on a bike ride. really enjoyable too, across fields and tracks, through wet muddy ditches!! got a puncture but thought ' no problem, i have got a spare inner tube in my ruck sack', put it on and then realised that i did not bring the pump!!!!

followed with a 3 mile walk home carrying the poxy bike on my shoulder!

Next time it happens stuff the tyre with grass/moss. You should be able to get enough in there to make it rideable!!!!!

FAIL! Made me chuckle though. Had 3 punctures in one ride once and I use the compressed air cartridges, only carried enough for 2 punctures though. Similar result to yours. Long walk dragging some useless metal behind me.

I'd be sceptical about this too. I have 26*2.5 tyres on my bike. I think I 'd have to stuff a serious amount of grass/moss into one to keep it on the rims while carrying my 15 stone on uneven ground.

Similar thing snapped chain once long walk home pushing up hill and fre wheeling down

Ah Jodie, in your case best use bracken, small bushes and the odd tree branch then....

there is an invention - a recent one in petrol stations .. if you put money into a machine - it inflates your tires - works a treat!

Garages also have this facility - though you would have to be super cautious walking into one with lycra on. Mechanics are rounds for their dirty fetishes

I use the liquid latex filled tyres in my bike. In the event you get a puncture up to about 3mm in size they auto-seal the hole as the latex oozes out of the puncture and sets.

Never fails to amaze me that I can walk in to a petrol station in full lycra to buy food or water and inevitably get asked "any fuel with that?"
