I've locked the front door and my dress is caught in it i can't get the dress off i live in the middle of town opposite asda I'll have to wait here untill hubby gets back in 3 and a half hours

I can honestly say I've never had a day off sick when I haven't been ill. I have to be very poorly to ring in sick, it's all about respect, honesty and morals for me.

I phones in saying I had the shits, well I didn't really, I was off to Chams with my fwb

I definitely don't come across a lot of people that call in sick on the regular.

Maybe the population is higher in the UK then your homeland so therefore the ratio of sick callers would increase?

As a teen working part time in retail, I'd call in sick if I was being lazy, don't think I had a particularly memorable excuse for sickness. I once told a college tutor I was late because my porridge was too hot, which then snowballed into a series of events that led to my lateness.

As an adult I'd only call in sick if I was at deaths door... (No not man flu

Have never called in sick. It's much more work not being there, sending in work for the day etc etc and then clearing up the inevitable mess once you're back.

Have been off when in hospital having gen anaesthetics. Every time have had my line manager bring a laptop to me so I could send work in. Silly really but actually not much else to do in hospital I suppose.

People calling in sick, when they are not genuinely sick, really fucks me off.

It’s not the moral issue of being deceitful, that’s between the individual and their own conscience.

It’s the issue of other people having to carry extra or having their work curtailed because someone else’s presence is required for the job to be done and they are at home swinging the lead.

If you want time off, arrange it, don’t shit on others.

But yes, the temptation to call in last night was high

Would love more workplaces to have a good ol’ duvet day option. But appreciate the logistics nightmare for that.

Me.. no mate you just come in with it (including covid in 2021) and give it to us instead so we are off. (Boss berates those off and complains)
