Hey all, I need some new suggestions

I love horror movies, but generally they don’t really do anything for me, I’m a bit jaded haha

I’m looking for new titles, like from pure nightmare fuel to comedy horror

Worthing

In recent years, the film 'Life' was decent scifi with a horror twist. From years gone by, Phantasm scared me!

The Cube, I don't remember which one I saw, maybe The Cube 2 or 3? Was so gruesome it even unsettled ME.. and that says something

Martyrs - the original French version not the awful American remake. One of the greatest horrors ever made. Not for the faint of heart, and almost certain to provoke a discussion afterwards.

The Descent.

Rec - original Spanish not the awful American remake.

Possessor.

All are awesome, terrifying, grotesque, intense.

Cronenberg recently released his first body horror film in many years, although it has been divisive. It's called Crimes Of The Future (not to be confused with a short film he made with the same title in 1970 which is also out there).

One which has been out for ages but which I only recently got round to watching was ‘paranormal activity’.

If you haven’t seen it it’s worth considering.

Cheshire

Comedy horror and still enough to shock - Evil Dead or Cabin in the Woods.

Comedy - Shaun of the Dead or Tucker and Dale v Evil.

Foreign horror- The Orphanage, Martyrs (already recommended), Train to Busan or the Vanishing

Hollywood horror- It Follows, Green Room or the original Carrie.

Somewhere In The Ether…

I finally got around to watching, The Black Phone the other day.

Possibly more a thriller with supernatural elements than outright horror but very good nonetheless and definitely worthy of a watch

Oh, I saw a very disturbing film the other day called Swallow. About a woman who has a compulsion to swallow inanimate objects to gain control of part of her life in an abusive relationship. Very hard to watch.

I've always enjoyed The Ring.

I recently watched Smile which I found disturbing with a little body horror.

Another one I couldn't stop thinking about after seeing it was The Taking of Debra Logan.
