little house on the praire

I have three cats there is no 2 second rule. If its dropped they will be on it. Not much they don't like. In fact I can't think of anything. They love their food

It's 10 seconds in our house, and yes we are all very healthy. The body needs a bit of bad bacteria to keep up a good immune system

"2 second rule? I thought it was 5 seconds "

It’s, however long it takes me to scrape it up, in my house.

It's 5 seconds in our house but only if I yell " leave it" and the dogs actually listen

I do have another rule specifically for the labradors though- licking it doesn't make it yours!

If it can pick up bits of dust or fluff and hair, leave it, like an oven chip covered in vinegar

If you can pick it up and nothing attached to it, it's fine, like a skittle

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

Hang on... what?

That's only true for labradors though, right?

Marmite. It’s like glue, every speck of dust, crumb or cat hair on the floor instantly sticks to it.

Anything that's basically slop no. Anything else is fair game but why stick to just 2 seconds?

Somewhere In The Ether…

It depends on what it is; if I drop some kebab then I employ at least a week rule or until the dropped meat starts to sprout hair…

Anything dropped the dogs are welcome to, if it won't make them ill.

I thought it was 5 seconds.

The 2 second rule is about keeping your distance when driving

My floor usually sports a layer of fur so anything that drops there is usually lost to me. I dont much like hairy food.
