Too many cooks...

... How many cookery programmes are there?

In my opinion, too many!

There are even chanels.dedicated to cookery, why so many? How many chefs can rehash old recipes and pass them off as their own?

Do you think there are too many?

Tv is all one big repeat now. +1 channels. Catch up tv and as you say multiple versions of the same themes.

Like most things, there is a critical mass and I think we are approaching it with TV chefs. Far too many of them are celebrity chefs, who haven't really done 20 years in the trade - Greg Wallace, I'm looking directly at you!

The number of folds in a Chef's hat hasn't increased in recent years!

I seldom watch them, however, I quite like some of the offerings on the Food Channel like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

I am planning a road trip across USA in 2016 as a result of watching DDD.

I love watching cookery programmes and being inspired to try new things.

I also love watching man v food just to see the ridiculous food challenges they have in America!!

I'd love to go and see some of the places. The food looks amazing but I would just have normal portions, not the huuuuuuge ones

I bloody love cookery shows, I have went from not being able to cook to being pretty damn good in the kitchen through what I've learnt on cooking shows. Great way to pass half an hour.

I love cookery programmes and personally think there are too many sport programmes. After all, sports have lots of their own channels so why does it clog up Saturday night schedules?

Said tongue in cheek by the way, but if the channels only catered to what one demograph wanted then it wouldn't be fair on the others. Let Sundays be for cookery - sports rule the rest of the week.

I'll second that!! In fact if I were in

Politics my manifesto would contain "football to be made illegal". Think of all the money folk would save! Do you think I'd be successful?

Anyway tonight is part 2 of Mr Selfridge which I thought was good last week.

You did the same as me and took the name of it and assumed it was about the ripper too. It's set in the same time and place but the ripper isn't around. I'd say that its worth a watch on the iPlayer. X

Never mind a seal cull we should have an annoying tv chief cull. Get the harpoon boat out we will start with Worrel Thomson.
