"Two grown up boys and two tiny marks which no one else would even see, I've been very lucky But would you feel ugly with them?" I guess it's a woman thing hun, we're never satisfied are we, but I'm fairly happy with how lucky I have been. If I had loads then quite honestly, I don't know how I would feel, hubby always says I had his children and he loves it regardless, but as a woman, well we're self critical, but personally I think they are totally natural and women should be proud xx

In men, its seen as a sign of 'the sloth bearing his pies'.

"I've had extensive ones since giving birth some 30 years ago. They don't bother me and I certainly don't think they make me unattractive. However, having spoken to other women about this many do feel ugly with them. One person I know hides them from her hubby and even undresses in the dark!! How do you feel about them?" i hate mine I've had 3 sections so not only do i have a lot of stretch marks my bellies really baggy too, i have tried all sorts to get ride of it but due to the amount of times my stomachs been cut open the muscles are fooked, when i look at it it reminds me of a deflated balloon, all wrinkly and saggy, if i have the money id have it removed but i dont so i have to live with it I very rarely get naked when im having sex, i cant relax when my bellies on show, i have to have a bit of something round my midriff at least i know a lot of men say they dont bother them but i think thats because they are used to a few on a flatish belly, i think my belly would put a lot off

"It is refreshing to see so many men saying stretch marks do not bother them, good on you all . I was bullied at school because I had scars on my lower leg from a burn and upper thigh from the skin graft so a few wee stretch marks don't bother me. personally i really believe that it is the media that feeds insecurities. There are creams for stretch marks, wrinkles and scars. Yet every mark on a persons body tells a story and that story is what makes you who you are today. Shy " my god awful c-section scar is proof of that!

My stretch marks are extensive and I have a long vertical operation scar too. When I lost a fair bit of weight my belly became more saggy but I can honestly say it has never bothered me.

I at first hated it but as I thought about it I realised that over hang is a very small price to pay for now having a life free of so much pain. I don't allow it to bother me and again havnt been turned down or had men run when they see it.

Sadly there are some prevalent attitudes and opinions within the Swinging world which quite happily feed the fires of peoples insecurities. Swinging's primary driver is that of physical appearance.

"Don't bother me in the slightest but I used to meet someone for regular sex and she was obsessed. Was such a shame and despite much reassurance, she would never fully relax, always have her hands covering her stomach and after a while, it was frustrating. I would be a liar to say otherwise but the control of how she feels is with her, that I respect. " i think im like that To be honest and i hope this dont sound vain cause its not ment to but i think its my own insecurities and the way i handle them that put men off me more than the way i look, when i meet someone i feel the need to point out all my inperfection I cant take a compliment, if anyone says anything nice to me i react like they are mocking me and i think a lot find that more off putting than the way i look did that sound vain? i hope not lol

"I seriously cant ever remember in my life having a discution or thinking about my stretch marks once. Its something that never comes to mind. But i also grant men with a slight bit of intelligence to know that (in most cases) a 40 year old body isnt going to look like a 20 year old body" My 20 year old body didn't look like a 20 year old body! I was pregnant at 18 and gave birth at 19 - had the stretch marks since then.

"Stretch marks are fine ...its the saggy belly that's the turn off" When skin gets stretched it sags - nothing but costly surgery will correct it. You can go to the gym and tone up all you like but once the skin has lost its elasticity that is it - it cannot be changed.

Now that others have posted about non-pregnancy ones though it's interesting. I suppose I just didn't see that side of it.

My first was emergency, after 17 hours labour and failed forceps. He came out weighing 10lb9oz no wonder I couldn't get him out. They thought my second pregnancy indicated that the baby would be of equal size so recommended an elective c section, so I've had two and don't plan on every having any more even though the doctor said I had a lovely uterus lol. I also thought this for years but its so not the case, if you exercise, stretch, tone and build the correct muscle groups there is no reason for the sag...also the appearence of stretch marks can be greatly improved by PROPER hydration of the skin and body...which in turn improves the skins elasticity! You simply get back what you put in!

Once it is stretched, it is stretched. You can spend hours at the gym and a fortune on creams, lotions, hydrating formulas, moisturisers, etc, but this will not change the fundamental nature of stretched skin. It is not just stretched on the surface. Deep layered damage to skin remains.

Some women have told me how bad their stretch marks are only to have shown me a few piddling little ones. These, once faded, can barely be seen.

" Your right, but there are still plenty of women who dont mind fat hairy blokes with average sized willys, so why worry about those who dont. We cant all be pretty can we.

"There are many men with hangups about themselves, either bod conscious or they are shy, just they are less likely to start threads as they may think they will be ridiculed. I have a friend and hes absolutly gorgeous, i helped him to get some confidence, mainly he was just shy, and now he has met a lovely lady for a casual relatinship. I feel as though i helped him find himself" I like this thread, it is sensitive, not overly fawning... it does feel real. but if a guy posted something sensitive, it is not always so. The worst offenders many times are other guys elevating themselves. Swinging helps some people with body issues, others less so.

"I have no stretch marks on my tummy, but I do have a skanky big scar from my hysterectomy and a ruptured ectopic pregnancy, looks like a damn tram line, horrible, I might have a tattoo across it to disguise it a little. I don't think of my scar as ugly - it just is. Mine is still quite red tho, not been done that long, I might feel differently when it's faded. I got an infection in part of mine which makes the bottom end of it (just above the lady garden) large and lumpy. It still doesn't bother me. I know what you mean - but it will just fade into a light silver line. It's nothing - honest." Well they made a pigs ear of mine which caused an infection, so it's quite thick and bumpy, but hey ho, things could be worse. Men are usually too stunned by my beauty to notice anyway ..... "I've had extensive ones since giving birth some 30 years ago. They don't bother me and I certainly don't think they make me unattractive. However, having spoken to other women about this many do feel ugly with them. One person I know hides them from her hubby and even undresses in the dark!! How do you feel about them?" I have quite a few on my tummy and the tops of my arms and legs...some are from pregnancy but most are from being very overweight for many years. Used to be really paranoid about them but now I don't take any notice of them, they are just there.

"Stretch marks are fine ...its the saggy belly that's the turn off When skin gets stretched it sags - nothing but costly surgery will correct it. You can go to the gym and tone up all you like but once the skin has lost its elasticity that is it - it cannot be changed. I agree, I was stretched beyond belief with my second but after a few months doing specialised training intensively several times a week, and a very balanced diet my baby belly has flattened out! Must just depend on the person I think No it doesn't. It depends on the level of stretching, it depends on the skin type. Some women have told me how bad their stretch marks are only to have shown me a few piddling little ones. These, once faded, can barely be seen." My fundal height was over 40cm (aka off the charts) at just 32wks and he didnt stop growing, my skin was extremely stretched as he was a 10lber and I'm only 5' 2". I had inches of baby belly and it can and has been reversed on me. It does depend on the skin type which obviously depends on the person - we're all different. I wouldn't ever be as presumptuous to say "everyone can get rid of loose skin by hard work" but some people can, as I have! Some people can just through luck and good genetics!
